especially since I kept on seeing people complaining yesterday about baseball taking SPN's schedule place in some regions...I was afraid the ratings would drop
It's a shame that as a genre show on a Friday death slot Supernatural does not receive a proper recognition. It's beyond me how people can watch endless list of CSI procedurals, and not good gene show. *siges*
Supernatural Is only doing sligtly better than Nikita.Smallville was show that could bring a certain aount of viewers to friday night. Both SUpernatural and Nikita suffer without It or the The Vampire Diaires as a lead In.The Vampire Diaires Is the highest rated show on the CW.
Besides The Vampire Diaries all CW shows are doing terrable In the ratings system.Since I seriously doudt they will cancle all other shows besides the Vampire Diaries at end of season renewal will depend on which ones the new regime at the CW likes.Nikita and Supernatural could both end at end of season. Or they could get renewed. They both have 50/50 chance at this point.
Fair to poor. Total viewers is up 20% (which is good) from 2 weeks ago when it had Grimm and Fringe as competition. 8 million people watched those other 2 shows. Looks like 300,000 of those people watched SPN this week instead. Grimm & Fringe also had a combined demo rating of 2.7, of which SPN gained nothing (which is bad).
Since SPN had no competition tonight, expect its numbers to rise much less in the 7 day figures.
Thanks for the ratings...It is sad that Supernatural has lost ratings this year :( I remember when these ratings would be the result of reruns and not new episodes (which usually were in the 2 mil)
After vampire diairies and secret circle, supernatural is the most likely show to get renewed. Especially considering the Friday factor where it is getting better ratings then most of tens other shows on the CW.
So I would say supernatural has better than a 50/50 shot. I'd say it is likely it will get renewed.
Given it's on Friday night and has a horrible lead-in, "Supernatural" isn't faring too poorly. Its ratings should be good enough for it to be renewed for another season. It may be close, but it'll happen. What the hell, right? It's not as though the CW has anything better to put in its place.
I just don't understand why more people don't watch Supernatural, it's riveting viewing.
When you see some underpar shows getting millions of viewers it's so annoying.
Let's hope for that adjustment. However I note that a lot of the CW shows on during the week, on "better" days don't get higher numbers than SPN. So still plenty of hope for renewal :-)
Good to see we're steady! I'm sad that Supernatural doesn't get more viewer (why don't more people watch it, instead of those rubbish cop shows? There's like a million of the things... And reality tv. Ick. Our show deserves more recognition.) but at least there hasn't been a decrease.
By the way, you might find it interesting to know that the numbers were the 3rd best of the season, though without the adjusting (which could be good or bad).
Compared to itself. Yes, SPN has a fairly good chance of being renewed, but only because almost everything else on CW is doing even worse. That doesn't change the fact that SPN is doing poorly this season even for a Friday night.
What fans should really be worried about is CW going under and all their shows being canceled. CW is being beat out by a LOT of cable channels at this point. They either need to make some drastic changes (which could mean a lot less genre shows), or call it quits. I love CW for having so many genre shows, but it has not been paying off this season. I hope they can get a couple more winning genre shows next season to get them back on their feet.
Someone posted this on Facebook:Supernatural (1.9, 1.1/2) I have no idea how the rating system works,I'm sorry, but every week I hear something about final numbers so maybe that's it.And I think that pretty good, right?? : )
In my area (Baltimore), it was just a high school football game. I can't believe that it blocked out too large of an area. However, I was surely ticked off because I had no warning that I wouldn't be seeing my favorite show. I had to wait until 4:40 am when I got my iTunes download before seeing the show *grrrr*
I watch more show on CW than any other network, Supernatural & The Vampire Diaries are my favorites, but love Hart of Dixie, The Secret Circle, Nikita and watch Ringer, but the acting is so bad am hoping Jason and a guest stint by Misha Collins will help it.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
The CW is losing so much viewers lately. It can't be only because every show on there sucks.^^
ReplyDeleteI'm glad SPN is back to their average viewers, lets hope for a 0,8 in the final numbers :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, all those who are into the world of the ratings, how can Supernatural's ratings be interpretated this week? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteyeah, it was comforting to see this table this week!
ReplyDeleteespecially since I kept on seeing people complaining yesterday about baseball taking SPN's schedule place in some regions...I was afraid the ratings would drop
ReplyDeleteJeez, Smallville had much better numbers last year, looks like Supernatural number are down this year.
ReplyDeletethat's so weird.. baseball's been over since October haha.. but I'm glad it didn't force a ratings drop!

ReplyDeleteEveryone's entitled to an opinion but Supernatural does not suck.
ReplyDeleteSteady. If we kept these numbers up all season, we'd almost certainly be renewed. Hoowever we could do better, and we usually get adjusted up.

I'm pretty sure, that this will be the last season of Nikita. :(
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)

In your opinion!
ReplyDeleteSupernatural has outlived many shows supposedly cosidered "better" by the high-brows" and I hope it continues to do so.
Fair to poor compared to what? Other networks or The CW? Have you see what shows on the CW did this week?
ReplyDeleteSupernatural was 2nd in overall viewers and only had 40k less viewers than hart of dixie and was third in 18-49. While doing it on a Friday Night.
And yes I'm not including top model in the above statement because it is a reality show/competition show.
Aren't some network results missing or are only scripted shows included in this table? Just wondered

I just read on another site that Supernatural actually beat NBC in the 9 o'clock hour, so that sounds good, right :-)
ReplyDeleteCorrect, the other shows except for Vampire Diaries aren' t doing any better.

ReplyDeleteThat's your opinion, but there's no way Supernatural sucks. It's an amazing show that doesn't get enough recognition.

ReplyDeleteLOL, my local CW put a Houston Texan football game on instead of TVD one time and I went ballistic. Football over TVD, give me a break. ;)
