Is Rosewood ready to finally discover who “A” is on Pretty Little Liars? Apparently so! EW has learned exclusively that the ABC Family series will reveal the elusive troublemaker’s identity in the coming season’s finale, which will air on March 19.
Die-hard fans don’t need to be reminded, but the identity of “A” has been the central mystery of the show since it launched in June 2010. “A” has been threatening to reveal the secrets of the four Pretty Little Liars (Troian Bellisario, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, and Ashley Benson), mostly via text messages, since their pal Alison (Sasha Pieterse) was murdered in the series premiere. At this point, viewers and fans don’t even know whether “A” is a he or a she.
Details about how, exactly, the reveal will take place — or natch, who “A” will be revealed as — are under lock and key, but now fans and viewers can revel in the knowledge that Liars is working toward something big this season. “We’re running on adrenaline to the finish line,” creator and executive producer Marlene King tells EW exclusively. “This finale is virgin territory in the sense that we are answering some ultra huge questions. We’re giving the audience a lot to digest and talk about between seasons two and three. For the entire cast and crew, lips are sealed and excitement is at an all time high. To steal a line from the finale script, ‘This feels big.’” Indeed.
Additionally, the season finale will see someone arrested for the murder of Alison (finally!), as well as the death of a beloved character (don’t worry, it’s not one of the four main gals).

Good news! I like that they carried it over to Season 2, but eventually they have to reveal 'A' and move on to the next mystery.....
ReplyDeleteGood to know.
ReplyDeleteGreat news! I was hoping that we'd find out soon. Why do I tihnk finding it out will only lead to more questions and more mystery? Oh yeah, because they've ordered a season 3!
ReplyDeleteHa! True!
ReplyDeleteI never read the books, but from what I recall others saying they revealed 'A' only to have a new one pop up. I wonder if the first 2 seasons cover roughly Book 1 of the series or if it has elements of the second book too?
Wow, Darque, you just blew my mind! I definitely did not think you watched PLL. But I don't think they are going to give us the real "A". If you've read the books you know, we go through a slew of "A's" until the whole truth (I won't spoil you) is finally revealed. But I actually think they are getting back around to the books' plot (hint: if you've read the books and seen the Halloween episode, you know what I mean).
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of like True Blood in a way where one book is the major inspiration but there are a few things from some other books too along with the show's own little creations
ReplyDeleteHa!
ReplyDeleteI like a lot of the lighter ABC Family shows honestly. I just don't get overly into them like the more dramatic and gritty dramas. They have that serial element I need in TV shows to keep interested longer than a season or so....
PLL is just fun formulaic entertainment, but I like it! Same with The Lying Game and Switched at Birth Although I have not caught up with SaB yet....
I liked Kyle XY a lot, but ostly I miss GREEK! :(
Ahh okay. I figured it was kind of like that, but was not sure.
ReplyDeleteHow many books are in the series... 3? Or is it ongoing and ever-growing? Not that ti matters to me much, but I guess I was wondering if the books have have some ultimate plot as the endgame.
Great news! It was getting a bit old...
ReplyDeleteI'm on board with this news. It could freshen things up too.
ReplyDeleteHa! They look like the cast of Misfits in those jumpsuits!!
ReplyDeleteIt's very possable the audence may discover who A Is but the girls don't.
ReplyDeleteI'm really happy to know this. But are we supposed to assume that A isn't going to be around to cause trouble for Season 3 or will someone new pop up?
ReplyDeleteThe first book only covered up to the gals going to the Funeral and seeing Jenna for the first time. It also had Mr. Fitz run off after reading an A text message off Aria's phone.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDelete10 and counting
ReplyDeleteIf you were into Young Justice, we could be soul mates, lol. The Lying Game is by the same author as PLL, I guess they decided to pull a Secret Circle. There aren't as many books and I honestly haven't read them either, I'm not that into it, but I find that they deal with the twin/mystery thing better than Ringer does(how odd). Switched at Birth is interesting because of the deaf culture but I am a casual viewer, I usually end up watching it On Demand, not live, I don't even bother to DVR it. I loved KY XY and Greek was ok, I thought they deserved a better send off. It's weird that ABC family has more interesting programs on two nights than ABC has all week (with the exception of Revenge and OUaT, I haven't watched anything on ABC since Lost, and before that, I can't even remember).
ReplyDeleteHa!
ReplyDeleteI agree about The Lying Game. I find it superior to Ringer in production and well, almost every way honestly. So strange to read myself type that because of the talented cast on Ringer, but the cast is wasted on a poorly written series like that frankly.
I think both Kyle XY and Greek deserved better too, but I was happy that ABCF at least gave them a shortened season as a send-off. That is more than most networks do these days!
I watch the terribly treated Cougar Town and newbie hit Suburgatory regularly... I enjoy Revenge but it is getting old faster the longer it goes on and I have a feeling I will stop watching that after this season if not before.
ABC is like the romance network or something now. Soap opera central which is ironic since they cancelled their legitimate daytime soap operas! XD Almost every drama series I used to watch on ABC became a dating game and I tuned out fast.
Yeah im excited even though i was a sucker and looked who A was in the books on wikipedia. Maybe they will stray from the book and make it a total shock to everyone. Now we have to wait 5 months for it...
