Wednesday means Modern Family, and also Suburgatory & Up All Night. I'll be adding the new American Horror Story and Revenge to my special 'DVR' and I'll also be collecting the new Psych episode, Psych being one of the few long-running series still in production that I have yet to see, along with Burn Notice, Parenthood and a small show called Supernatural, I don't know if anyone has heard of it around here.
But what I will really be watching is Lille-Trabzonspor (with an eye on Lyon-Zagreb as well). They can both qualify to the last 16 of the Champions League, even if it seems like mission impossible for Lyon (they'll have to score 3-4 goals without conceding one, and in the meantime hope Ajax Amsterdam will get crushed at home by Real Madrid 3-0 or 4-0 as well, despite the latter being already qualified). Lille, on the other hand, doesn't have to look at the results of the other game of their group (Milan-Moscow), they just have to win.
Hopefully both Lyon and Lille will perform as well as Marseille last night in their epic, EPIC qualification at Dortmund for the last 16 of the Champions League. Dortmund led 2-0 by the 32th minute but Marseille ended up scoring 3 goals, including two in 3 minutes at 84' and 87', qualifying them (here's a video recap : http://www.canalplus.fr/c-sport/c-football/c-ligue-des-champions/pid3481-c-videos-ligue-des-champions.html?vid=556789 ). The last goal by Valbuena was beautiful, and it meant a lot because before that Marseille's fate depended on the result of Olympiakos-Arsenal : the athenians defeated the plumbers of Arsenal 3-1, the latter were already qualified before the game and they did not try at all to make a great performance (which would have helped Marseille)). That game ended a few minutes before Dortmund-Marseille, when they nailed Arsenal with a third goal (ensuring them the win) that's when Ayew scored Marseille's second goal keeping us in the race for the 2nd qualifying spot of the group. Olympiakos players were then all gathered in the center circle when they heard that Marseille scored a third goal and Dortmund couldn't, which gave the win to Marseille and thus putting Olympiakos in a third eliminating position.
Ah ! Sorry, I didn't know Canal+ video player was region blocked. Here's a Youtube video of the last 2 goals, that's the only one I could find : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHmuXTx8kXo.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteAnd now I couldn't be happier. Lyon won 1-7 at Zaghreb ! 7 goals (including 4 goals by Bafé Gomis, who is now the 8th football player in history to score 4 goals in one european game) ! As Janice in Friends would say, "Oh. My. God". I still can't believe it.
