I loved everything about it! But nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Graham! Knew it was coming, but still. LOL at making out with Emma gave him his memory back.
And Regina definitely knows the truth. Tonight proved it.
As much as I knew that Graham was going to die the scene was still heartbreaking. Regina is so cruel and cold. It definitely was one amazing episode. On a side note the second half of the season looks great.
p.s I do have o mention that I loved the bitch slap between Emma and Regina.
wow i cant believe they kill him off right at the good part. I was actually hoping for more from him and to have him more involved with emma. But hey they proved to us they arent afraid to kill off main characters ( this is the 3rd new show i watch that plans or planned to kill off a main character before like 15 episodes have even aired). Not much of gold who i usually like the best but it wasnt so bad following graham around. I actually liked mary in this episode for once lol and regina was bad @ss! Killing him by the heart and such was lex luthor (from smallville) type of revenge and evil. Love this show!
Best episode ever and yet the saddest, it will be hard to get over this one ! I loved the Sheriff and in one episode they were able to build up so much and make us love so many aspects of this character that by the end you are heartbroken...amazing episode now I am sure is one of the best things on TV! two things: I would love to have Graham back he was not only hot but showed potential for a great arc and I KNEW REGINA KNOWS EVERYTHING THIS PROVES IT!!! Lana Parrilla is amazing in this hands down she is evil and before this episode she was just a mad mayor with menacing tactics tonight she showed the cold hearted Biotch she is....I hate her but I love her as well! This shows confuses you a lot on the feeling department....
OMG. Totally mt sentiments as well. Loved this episode a whole lot but am super bummed about Graham. Damn, this show is getting so dense and layered and awesome.
Agreed. Best one yet. And also tonight was the night I truly recognized the greatness of Parilla's performance. As the evil queen she is so menacing and animated. This role could easily have been cast with someone else and it could have come off really hammy and laughable. She really brings a nice tone and balance to the show, I think.
Great episode, and saddest one too. I wonder if a lot of folks will be getting their memories back from kissing Emma... it is the holidays and there is prob alot of mistletoe around... lol
wow.. FANTASTIC episode!! there were so many great things about it, but ultimately what I noticed, was that for the first time in a while, I found the Storybrooke segments to be just as compelling as the fairy tale ones. the writers deserve praise for a job well done on this one!
I loved the Regina/Emma smackdown, which was long overdue, and I had to pause the episode when Graham gave Regina the "it's not me, it's you" line.. I was laughing SO hard..
as usual, I appreciated the subtle nuances that the show provides - right from the start, Graham is throwing darts at a photo of a deer, immediately cluing us in to the fact that he's the Huntsman.. the attention to detail on this show always amazes me!
that being said, I'm really upset that Graham had to die - I legitimately liked the guy, and while I knew it was coming (the poor guy never stood a chance) I was crossing my fingers that he'd get a pass.. and poor Emma - this isn't going to contribute well to the breaking down of her "wall"!
Saw that coming. Still sad though. OUAT is definitely my favorite new show. I can't wait for the next episode. and by the looks of it, it looks like a Rumplestilskien/Mr. Gold-centric once. I love him! He is so fun to watch
Well, that answers *that* question once and for all.
(Awesome seeing Giancarlo Espisito can't wait for his ep)I knew it was going to happen. They told us in the promo it was going to happen. And I....well...I'm annoyed. Backing up...I really liked the Huntsman's story. Though why in the heck would the Queen look at a guy who cries over his kills and think.."Yes! That's the perfect guy to hire as my personal assassin." A guy who cries when he kills for food is NOT going to be okay killing a human for money. Which brings me to...this is the first ep where I though Regina stupid. This character has always been cunning and able to size people up so she can manipulate them. So she decides to tell Emma to back off her man? Really? Regina has been lobbing threats at Emma since she got to town and all she got for her money was the woman moving into town and building a relationship with her son. Telling Emma to stay away from Graham was just stupid. It felt out of character and bounced me out of the story. As for killing him off....mixed feelings isn't quite the right way to describe how I feel about that. I'm of two minds. On the one hand...once Graham climbed out of Regina's bed (i.e. dumped her) he had to die. That woman keeps your heart in a box she's gonna squeeze it when you piss her off. On the other hand...it felt like a cheat designed to keep them from having to deal with the weakening of the spell on a big scale. Maybe it's just that they told this story too soon. I don't know. What I do know is that I HATE reset stories. Have since I was a kid. It's what I adore about the trend of having series with arc stories. If they're going to be forced to play these kind of reset or no-go stories (by no-go I'm thinking stories that look like they're to somehow move the arc story forward but in fact changes nothing) they're going to loose me as a viewer. It becomes boring and causes me to lose faith in the story teller. (That's part of what happened to Lost in the middle of its run. They started doing no-go stories and the audience began to lose faith.)
So all that said...how do I grade this ep...hmmm....I think I'll still give it an awesome. I'll let them off the hook just this once for the reset element of the story.
This was an okay episode for me, it confirmed that EQ/Regina does know but I guess she doesn't know that Rumpy knows (or at least she is hoping he doesn't), what bugged me the most was Henry, he was so calm and casual about the situation, it was me and someone just verified what I had been fixated on, I would have been a lot more excited
That was one of many things that bothered me. Just terribly inconsistent writing on the show.... no continuity of character or grounding. Everyone seems to do whatever fits the story and no more without thought of their lives outside of the episode's story.
But, little by little it's getting better and at least we get a few major answers and more to ponder. The fairy tale world felt more real this week, I am not sure that I liked that. But I it's still 'the one to watch' for me. I am so use to being disappointed that I go into every new show without a lot enthusiasm (thanks in part to Lost and network executives who don't know when to let a show breathe and grow and when to cancel something that is stale and trite (yes, I am looking at you CSI and L&O:SVU)). BTW, did you post for Dexter or Homeland yet?
I have not watched either yet.. I may watch Homeland tonight i na bit. I've been doing some work on PC and surfing, chatting etc. Homeland is a show I like to enjoy without distraction so I'm waiting. Dexter I watched with friends later in the week usually... unless I get bored or really want to see a given episode.
So sad in the end! But I loved every single scene! The Bitchfight was awesome. I really liked the scene were Graham visits Mary M. in her classroom, because they try to remember when they got to know everyone and I hope now she tries to piece that together!
"A guy who cries when he kills for food is NOT going to be okay killing a human for money. Which brings me to...this is the first ep where I though Regina stupid."On the contrary. He cried because he had to kill an animal in order to survive. When he killed the guy (or nearly killed it), he didn't cry a single bit, since he believes that only animals have a pure heart. That's why the Queen decided to hire him: he is merciless towars humans.
And that's the same reason why he didn't manage to kill Snow White: while reading her letter, he realized that she has a pure heart, thus he couldn't do it.
Really amazing episode. Can't wait to see the next episode to see how the town deals with the death or the sherriff.
Jeez, this show is my new LOST. They developed Graham in this episode... And killed him off in the end! I was furious! Love the show. Catfight was awesome and less Henry --> GREAT
In the fairy tale the Queen wants Snow White dead so she can be the fairest of them all......in this version it seems that Snow White had loose lips regarding a secret that her step mother confided to her???? What was that secret? Was it told and I missed it .......................any ideas out there in fan land? The show is very well done. I knew that the Queen/ Regina knew who she was......Rumple too. What a power play taking place in that little town. Okay now Emma you seen the white wolf.........now I guess you need to start believing............
Emma did see the wolf with Graham so she knows he wasn't hallucinating.Maybe that wasn't enough to make her believe, but it sure did make her question everything that has been going on.
No, TPTB definitely did not tell us what the secret was. Whatever it was clearly it was something bad, and although Regina really did love Snow's dad, the secret being loose was the switch for Regina to then kill him????
What's funny is that in the pilot she says she saw a wolf and that's what made her crash and then someone, I think it was Graham, said Storybrooke didn't have wolves and they chalked it up to the mayor's too strong apple (rolls eyes still) martini,
And, maybe, just like in LOST, we will discover that people who die in the main part of the show end up actually just going back to a different existence. Maybe it wasn't the heart-crushing that ended Graham.. maybe it was the fact that he now remembers!
It was definitely one of the best episodes so far. however, I'm so heartbroken about graham. I really loved that character and killing him off so soon ... *sigh*
I kind of feel like the death was not earned by the show, its only been like 7 episodes and all these relationships that have formed its happened to quickly, it's like they are trying to pull a Lost but we had 6 seasons of those characters knowing each other.
- Just the right amount of Henry used to full effect. That kid was quite happy that someone was remembering. - I continue to like the Mary Margaret / Emma scenes at the apartment. That was a truly bizarre sight. I hope they eventually explain that. - I was a bit peeved at how Emma rudely brushed off Ruby in the diner. - I really dug the wolf. I hope he sticks around to help Emma now that the Sheriff is dead.
It was okay for me. Luckily the amount of Henry was kept to a minimum which is a big bonus.
Mr. Gold in the wood with a shovel wearing a suit was very weird. Who would do that?
Ginnifer Goodwin consistently fails to impress me. I never watched Big Love, but I heard good things and just asumed she's a decent actress. So far she was rather disappointing.
Why did the mirror's voice sound a bit like a computer?
All in all, just okay. I made my peace with the fact that people do things nobody would normally do and that the show makes me laugh at scenes that aren't supposed to be funny, but it's entertaining TV. I might not watch every episode immediately, but when I have nothing better to do it's fun catching up.
On the Queen's part that is dubious logic. (And I'm not saying the writers did anything wrong here. I think its one of the elements that was really right) If the Queen were capable of understanding people...really understanding them and not just overlaying her world view, she would have seen the potential of what happened. Heck, the guy in the bar saw it. That's why he started the fight, because he recognized the crying for what it was...a sign of weakness. (at least in his world view where compassion is weakness. The Queen didn't see it. For me it's one of the signs of uneven writing. They do such a great job with moments like that...and then miss in having Reginia be so off the mark with how she handled Emma in ordering her to stay away from Graham.
From the promo, I predict Regina's hard ball move to get rid of Emma is going to backfire. I think it might be fun to see Regina realize her absolute control isn't so absolute anymore. Especially now that we know she remembers beign the Queen.
I don't remember Graham saying anything about the wolves in the pilot. I think i will have to revisit it,it seems it seems i missed a few things that happened. Thanks!
A-we-so-me! I loved everything... except Graham's death at the end! :-( We saw it coming from the beginning, so I was quite disappointed when it finally happened without any trick. And, really, it's such a shame ruining a great chemistry between two characters like Emma and Graham.
I'm hoping its something less straight forward - like she's some how the reason Rumple is in the Realm, or she gave up her first-born to him (without telling Snow's dad).
I keep wondering is Emma going to have to make out with the whole town now. I don't understand why JMo is so inexpressive in this. It's like she's confused in every single scene.
Course saw it coming...just when I began to like the Graham character. Again a fantastic episode, with Henry incorporated as less as possible. :) Wonder how the town will react to his death (was there every any death in Storybrooke before?) since they don't seem to have been "born" there and "met" each other at some point.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I loved everything about it! But nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Graham! Knew it was coming, but still. LOL at making out with Emma gave him his memory back.
ReplyDeleteAnd Regina definitely knows the truth. Tonight proved it.
It was awesome, I'm sad for Graham, but maybe there's a way to bring him back, just like Snow White after eating the apple.
ReplyDeletethey have to bring him back he was my fav. :(
ReplyDeleteAs much as I knew that Graham was going to die the scene was still heartbreaking. Regina is so cruel and cold. It definitely was one amazing episode. On a side note the second half of the season looks great.
ReplyDeletep.s I do have o mention that I loved the bitch slap between Emma and Regina.
Graham, nooooooo! :'(
ReplyDelete:c I wan't to cry!
ReplyDeleteSo sad Graham died. Hope we will see him again in the flashback
ReplyDeleteThat was depressing, totally saw it coming but still sad.
ReplyDeleteGreat Episode! Very reminiscent of LOST... "I remember everything!"
ReplyDeletePoor Graham! I saw it coming but it still killed me to watch him go.
ReplyDeleteI knew it was going to happen but i still cried.Oh Graham, how sad to see you go.
ReplyDeleteI bet he didn't die. He just gonna feel anything anymore. rs
ReplyDeleteI AM SO SAD THAT HE DIED! he was my favorite character!!!!!!!! they betterr bring him back somehoww!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat catfight between Emma and Regina. We now know 100 percent that she remembers her past as the evil queen.
ReplyDeleteI thought Mr Gold killed and buried the wolf when he was In the woods. This Is first episode where we saw Mr Gold without seeing Rumpy In flashback.
We know The Queen hates SNow White because Snow told a secret the queen told her.Of course we still don't know what the secret was.
i'm soooo sad that the hottest sheriff ever is dead! he was one of many reasons for me to watch OUAT.... please bring him back in flashbacks!!
ReplyDeletewow i cant believe they kill him off right at the good part. I was actually hoping for more from him and to have him more involved with emma. ReplyDeleteBecause he's dead. :P
ReplyDeleteGrahan gets your memorys back after this he die's. Sad and the best episode so far.
ReplyDeleteGraham is dead, after the spell break and this is the best episode yet.
ReplyDeleteBest episode ever and yet the saddest, it will be hard to get over this one ! ReplyDeleteLike how on Lost Hurley kissed Libby and remembered.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe it! =C Poor Graham!
ReplyDeleteOMG. Totally mt sentiments as well. Loved this episode a whole lot but am super bummed about Graham. Damn, this show is getting so dense and layered and awesome.

ReplyDeleteI knew they were going to do it! I knew! But that didn't make the Emma- Graham, graham dies thing any easier.
ReplyDeletei cannot believe they killed him off. i am so sad. what a bad way to start finals week.
ReplyDeleteGreat episode, and saddest one too. I wonder if a lot of folks will be getting their memories back from kissing Emma... it is the holidays and there is prob alot of mistletoe around... lol
ReplyDeleteUhh.. I don't know, how about..? FANTASTI-PERFECT!

ReplyDeleteThis show gets better and better! Now Henry has confirmation! So does Emma!
ReplyDeleteThat queen is so evil. Does this mean that Emma is sheriff now??
ReplyDeleteBut, little by little it's getting better and at least we get a few major answers and more to ponder. The fairy tale world felt more real this week, I am not sure that I liked that. ReplyDeleteNo need to rush to see either
ReplyDeleteX-Files...on a net that's been notorious for killing good shows and/or shows with the potential to be great.
ReplyDeleteDoes Emma have confirmation? She seemed to believe he was hallucinating because of his fever straight through the end.
ReplyDeleteLoved it but sad
ReplyDeleteSo sad in the end! But I loved every single scene! The Bitchfight was awesome.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the scene were Graham visits Mary M. in her classroom, because they try to remember when they got to know everyone and I hope now she tries to piece that together!

ReplyDeleteJust because he's dead in 'this' world doesn't necessarily mean he's dead in the Forest, right? Right?
ReplyDeleteMr. Gold - "Did I forget to shave this morning?" Irony+ best line of the ep!!
ReplyDeleteNo, TPTB definitely did not tell us what the secret was. Whatever it was clearly it was something bad, and although Regina really did love Snow's dad, the secret being loose was the switch for Regina to then kill him????
ReplyDeleteSo sad!
ReplyDeleteI think he is dead, dead. The enchanted world is their past, not a paralel world.
ReplyDeleteRIGHT.
ReplyDeleteTHAT IS MY STORY AND I'M STICKING TO IT.
True, not the whole truth, but Hurley did remember that he once lived an alternate life, and Libby was in it.
ReplyDeleteThat was an amazing episode! but nooooooooooo!!! noooooo! nooooooo!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm still crying and my heart is still beating sadly! :(
And just like in LOST, favourite Boone was the first to go!! and now in OuaT ... it was Graham! :( :( :(
ReplyDeleteWhat's funny is that in the pilot she says she saw a wolf and that's what made her crash and then someone, I think it was Graham, said Storybrooke didn't have wolves and they chalked it up to the mayor's too strong apple (rolls eyes still) martini,
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing, maybe Graham will get his own show too and be all dark and broody and maybe even a werewolf, lol
ReplyDeleteAnd, maybe, just like in LOST, we will discover that people who die in the main part of the show end up actually just going back to a different existence. Maybe it wasn't the heart-crushing that ended Graham.. maybe it was the fact that he now remembers!
ReplyDeleteThis was really a great episode! I can't believe they really killed the Graham off.. Keep hoping he will return. It IS a magical world, after all..
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely one of the best episodes so far. however, I'm so heartbroken about graham. I really loved that character and killing him off so soon ... *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI hope they kill off Henry next. he's kind of annoying
ReplyDeleteNow THIS is the new LOST. Not that trashy show known as the Event
ReplyDeleteI kind of feel like the death was not earned by the show, its only been like 7 episodes and all these relationships that have formed its happened to quickly, it's like they are trying to pull a Lost but we had 6 seasons of those characters knowing each other.
ReplyDeleteYes Emma is acting Sheriff. Until Regina takes it away from her.
ReplyDeletePossibly Regina did not want to be outed as a witch?
ReplyDeleteYou can tell they wrote for Lost. Get me to actually like a character I was resistant too... then kill them.
ReplyDeleteVery well done episode.
ReplyDelete- Just the right amount of Henry used to full effect. That kid was quite happy that someone was remembering.
- I continue to like the Mary Margaret / Emma scenes at the apartment. Their relationship is probably the most consistently well written part of the show.
- Great revelations about Regina, what she remembers (everything), and her relationship to Mary Margaret.
- Why the hell was Mr. Gold in the middle of the woods, wearing a suit and an apron, and carrying a shovel!? That was a truly bizarre sight. I hope they eventually explain that.
- I was a bit peeved at how Emma rudely brushed off Ruby in the diner.
- I really dug the wolf. I hope he sticks around to help Emma now that the Sheriff is dead.
That was a great line. I'm starting to think that Mr. Gold has an agenda that's completely separate from Regina's, one that may conflict with hers.
ReplyDeleteThat's now how I saw Henry. To me, he seemed happy, relieved, and almost giddy that someone was remembering. At the very least, he was eager.
ReplyDeleteEven if Emma had confirmation, I'm sure she'd stifle it under a huge pile of self-denial.
ReplyDeleteIt was okay for me. Luckily the amount of Henry was kept to a minimum which is a big bonus.
ReplyDeleteMr. Gold in the wood with a shovel wearing a suit was very weird. Who would do that?
Ginnifer Goodwin consistently fails to impress me. I never watched Big Love, but I heard good things and just asumed she's a decent actress. So far she was rather disappointing.

ReplyDeleteWe saw it coming from the beginning, so I was quite disappointed when it finally happened without any trick.
And, really, it's such a shame ruining a great chemistry between two characters like Emma and Graham.
It was just a plot device to give Emma one more thing to fight for, I thought she made a great point about the two guys in Regina's life
ReplyDeleteDoes that make Henry, Walt?
ReplyDeletedon't know if anyone said this yet, but it'll probably end with the characters in fairy tale land with all the memories of the curse
ReplyDeleteThe Werewolf Diaries? :D
ReplyDeleteI felt really sad about the ending, I wish Graham will come back somehow
ReplyDeleteIt was the BEST episode so far, and I knew this would happen, but still I was heartbroken. One of my favorite characters. :'(
ReplyDeleteAlthough Jamie Dornan (Graham) said in an interview that he might appear again later as the huntsman... I really hope so :)
I'm hoping its something less straight forward - like she's some how the reason Rumple is in the Realm, or she gave up her first-born to him (without telling Snow's dad).
ReplyDeleteI keep wondering is Emma going to have to make out with the whole town now. I don't understand why JMo is so inexpressive in this. It's like she's confused in every single scene.
ReplyDeleteI loved it!!!!! but i didnt want Graham to die! come on!!!!! Loved the fight between Regina and Emma
ReplyDeleteCourse saw it coming...just when I began to like the Graham character.
ReplyDeleteAgain a fantastic episode, with Henry incorporated as less as possible. :)
Wonder how the town will react to his death (was there every any death in Storybrooke before?) since they don't seem to have been "born" there and "met" each other at some point.
The best episode of the show so far.. Jamie Dornan was great, the story was great and the music was beautiful. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe Graham died! :(
