yeaaah i do agree on that one, i still have to watch the one from last year because i skipped it while catching up on doctor who and i do agree the christmas spirit was here far more :)
Great episode, full of joy and a wonderful ending which made me cry on several occasions especially the Doctor's happy crying awww! Also liked how it dealt with the Amy/Rory reunited with the Doctor by well making it pretty damn simple! They could have easily dragged that on for a few episodes in S7.
Meh, It was OK. Which is actually the best who christmas episodes can be. They get so engrossed in "Christmas Spirit" that they forget to actually make a decent story.
Quite simply beautiful. Definitely one I'll be watching many times more, and like last season's "Christmas Carol," I have a feeling this one will be added to my annual holiday list.
I really enjoyed it. I loved the Mother. She was delightful and in her own way just as unexpected as the Doctor. I knew her husband would be all right by the end of the ep but I was wrong about how. I actually liked the kids as well. Awesome in my book.
This episode was about on par with most Who Christmas episodes. They usually aren't that strong but hey, new Who on Christmas! The final two minutes alone with Amy, Rory and the Doctor were enough to make me vote awesome. Of course Amy takes down carolers with a squirt gun! Adorable Christmas jumper. "I'm not going to hug first." "She's a good girl!" And they always set a place for the Doctor at Christmas. Happy tears. Humany-wumany.
I thought it was great, and I hate to hear Gillian (Amanda Pond) is leaving the show, and the writers aren't saying exactly when. So I guess the Doctor is gearing up for another traveling companion.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Top marks from me, I was spellbound throughout :D

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it but one downside was that Bill Bailey was really underused.
