I had no idea Nick Kroll would be on the show and so I got really excited when I saw him. He basically played a slightly different and German version of his The League character, but he was a lot of fun to watch! The anime scene was a bit odd, although I laughed when they showed a cat for a split second.
It was nice seeing Jeff and Shirley bond again and Abed as Batman was just hilarious, especially when tried to climb down that rope. Annie trying to do bonus commentary was priceless too.
Jeff/Shirley actually work really well together, like in Season 1 when they gossiped about stuff and in the first season's Christmas episode. Sometimes the theme episodes are awesome, sometimes the ones where everyone is crazy are good, but I do enjoy the ones that focus on character relationships (not just romantic ones) like with what they did with Jeff and Shirley here. It's good to see Jeff finally comfortable with where he's at with these people, or at least not trying to shove them away like he was the first couple seasons.
I forgot to ask, did the song Troy was humming when Annie broke the DVD sound familiar to anyone else too? I'm sure they used it before on the show, but I can't remember when.
I had so many flashbacks regarding my Foosball or how we say it here "Tischfußball/Kicker" time. Know the feeling how frustrating it can be if the ball lands in a zone where nobody can get to it, well simply lift the table a bit. lol Wasn't so surprised to see how Shirley was so mean in her younger years...poor Jeff.
And Abed as Batman, always a win. Troy's sad humming was so sad and Annie's shriek, I gues I still have that Tinnitus. Sad to see Community on Hiatus for the next few months.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Always a delight. Always.
ReplyDeleteGreat story lines, and a Teutonic Ruxin (from the League) as a guest star? total win
ReplyDeleteTotally want an Annie, Abed and Troy spin off. Make it happen!
