It hasn't been a very Robin Sparkles–y kind of season for How I Met Your Mother's Cobie Smulders, the show's whiskey-drinking Canadian Robin Scherbatsky: We've seen her get drunk under her desk, start court-appointed therapy, and fall back into bed with the less sensitive of her two BFF-exes, Barney, while they were both in relationships — and she with her therapist. Now she's pregnant, or so she told Barney at the end of last episode. We spoke with Smulders ahead of tonight's big reveal — we'll find out if our favorite Canucks fan is really knocked up — and, dancing around spoilers, got her thoughts on her heavy season, the Barney relapse, and his bride's identity.

So freaking excited for tonight's episode! I need it in my life.
ReplyDeleteI'm beginning to think the mother is not actually Ted's wife, but Robin. The way it works is Ted ends up adopting/raising Robin's kid and he does, eventually, marry someone else (maybe has a kid of his own with her, making it two?). So the whole story, the whole show, is about him and Robin, and the gang. Maybe that's how the whole "Robin has no kids" thing gets solved while generating the complications in the Ted-Robin-Barney triangle hinted at early this season. They always say they will reveal the mom but they never refer to her as Ted's wife....maybe cause she's not? (This is getting a lot like The Sixth Sense if you ask me lol)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure this is right but I bet they have some sort of twist based on semantics that no one will see coming. And after reading the interview, I'm almost sure Barney doesn't marry Robin. That sucks bigtime!
Oh my God. LOL, can people please give up the "Robin is the Mother" and/or Ted's wife theory? IT'S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.
ReplyDeleteAnd Barney/Robin is endgame. Cobie isn't going to give away the bride in an interview. She doesn't want to ruin it for everybody.
And Ted never actually said Robin doesn't have kids, so they can easily get around that. The interviewer was wrong there.
I hope we do get one more Ted/Robin storyline, as I know they aren't going to end up together, but I love them together I think they have great chemistry, they made me love this show. *prepares to be flamed*
ReplyDeleteAs much as I dislike Ted/Robin, I think there's going to be one last storyline with them (involving Barney) this season, as talked about in the TV Guide interview from last night.

ReplyDeleteI didn't mean that Robin was the mother as in Ted's wife, but the title of the show could very well refer to her (as well), depending on who Ted is talking to. Also, we know that Robin prob ends up having kids since the casting went out for two child actors. I was just having fun speculating, something I believed was ok in places such as this. Next time you give an answer to someone's comment please try to be less angry about it or do us all a favour and say nothing at all ok?
