Grimm - Episode 1.07 - Organ Grinder - Daryl Sabara & Hannah Marks as "Hansel & Gretel"

We have two pieces of news for fans of NBC’s Grimm.

First, Spy Kids star Daryl Sabara is going to guest star on an upcoming episode of the Friday night series. Second, the show is going to tackle the popular fairy tale of “Hansel and Gretel,” which ought to make for an intriguing hour. Hannah Marks, from USA’s Necessary Roughness, will also guest star, playing Sabara’s sister.

The pitch: “Hanson (Sabara) and Gracie (Marks) are homeless teens trying to survive in the streets of Portland, when they unexpectedly get caught up in the creature world’s deadly black market of human organ dealing.”

The episode’s title: “Organ Grinder.” Yikes! Still, losing body parts arguably still better than a witch trying to roast you alive in her oven like in the original story. What will Hanson and Gracie use instead of the trail of breadcrumbs, you think?

  2. Is there any list of the Grimm stories they've done so far anywhere - just a quick reference cheat sheet? I'm interested in seeing what major ones they've done so far - but I missed a few.

  3. Their website should have something, but as I recall...
Episode 1.01 - Little Red Riding Hood
Episode 1.02 - Goldilocks and the The Three Bears
Episode 1.03 - The Queen Bee
Episode 1.05 - The Pied Piper
Episode 1.06 - Three Little Pigs/ Big Bad Wolf

I can't recall which tale was covered in Episode 1.04 - Lonelyhearts

  5. Episode 1.04 was a reference to Bluebeard (which has absolutely nothing to do with goats).

  7. Thanks I just rad Bluebeard for the first time here. http://childhoodreading.com/?p=20

There definitely was goat references though and not just in the appearance. http://images.wikia.com/grimm/images/3/31/Ep_104.jpg

I saw the nature-loving goat-horned and bearded Ziegevolk (which means Goat People in German) who kidnapped women to be his lovers as quite a bit like Pan - nature-loving, highly sexed, goat beard etc...

I never had heard of or read that Bluebeard tale before so it was lost on me at the time.... Now I see the connections and get their references!

  10. I knew that Hannah Marks girl looked familiar.  It all came together when I read the "Necessary Roughness" part.
