After teasing us a couple weeks ago with a letter promising more information about the first season of Game of Thrones on DVD/Blu-Ray, HBO (or should I say Varys?) delivered unto me the promised package.
Inside the beautiful, Stark-emblazoned box were some interesting items. A wax seal kit with a direwolf sigil stamp, accompanied by some Stark stationery; some lovely press photos of the Stark family from season one; a couple DVDs with press materials and other goodies (including an exclusive video, which is embedded after the break); and, last but not least, a dragon’s egg.

The egg came with the following note…

Hmmmm… very interesting.
Alongside the egg were the DVDs. One was the first episode (which, of course, I had to watch immediately; man, I almost forgot how awesome this show is), the other was loaded with press materials, including an exclusive first look at one of the Blu-Ray’s special features. It is from the Complete Guide to Westeros, a set of 24 videos that give an animated account of the history of Westeros, narrated by the cast of the show. This one is about the gods of Westeros and is narrated by Michelle Fairley and Isaac Hempstead-Wright.
Here are some more photos of the press kit...

Wow!
ReplyDeleteHow amazing is the HBO press department? No show does better! PERIOD!
That video from the BD set is OUTSTANDING! It is like a full on documentary and not some simple interview. Insanely incredible!
I am officially envious of Winter and I Elio at Westeros got the Targaryen Press Kit.... Wow!
Oh I want this so badly
ReplyDeleteThis really makes me consider how to make it possible to get a BR-Player and HD capable telly.
ReplyDeleteThis are some seriously cool marketing materials! Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThat press kit is nice but I would have preferred that they send me the kit in one of Ned Stark's cloaks.

After all, winter is coming.
Ha!
ReplyDeleteI love the wardrobe of th e cast! HBO's team has doen a brilliant job....
I wonder how tired people will get of hearing "Winter is coming" as the series progresses and Winter does not yet arrive? Five books in and Winter is taking it's own sweet time! XD
Not sure you saw this last week.
Haha! No, I did not see that. The only thing that could have made that better is if it was just Ned's head on a pike with a Santa hat on.
ReplyDeleteHa!
ReplyDeleteCruel, but funny...
I'm a bit surprised no one has madea GoT Christmas video.... Maybe "Joffrey the Red-Faced Lannister"
~~ Joffrey the Red-Face Lannister, had a very ruddy gleam,
and each time Tyrion slapped it, you could really see it beam ~~
Thanks for this! I might get it for my BFF for Christmas, hmm....
ReplyDeleteI wants a dragon egg!!
ReplyDeleteHere! XD

Amazing, I want that egg
ReplyDeleteWow that is amazing, really want to buy a blue ray player now for the first time
ReplyDeleteIt says it's 3" tall ... If a guy measured it thoug it's probably more like 1".
ReplyDeleteI think I'll snurch the pix and make my own - the resin would cost less than what they're charging for it and I can make it bigger!!!!
Oh man! this is so awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI admire a lot the minds that creat such an ellaborate story out of nowhere. I mean, it may be based on ancient beliefs and legends but even so... Game of Thrones materialized in image is a dream come true for everyone that enjoys a good story told.
ReplyDeletethanks
