Yesterday, while we waited anxiously for the new trailer, producer’s assistant Cat Taylor tweeted that filming has officially wrapped on the second season of Game of Thrones.
"That’s it! Just wrapped on #GameOfThrones series 2! Can’t wait to see it, and the team next year!"
All told, the filming lasted 140 days and spanned three countries and dozens of individual locations. Pretty amazing for a TV show. Now begins the process of taking all that film and editing it down to approximately 10 hours of television. Not to mention adding the sound, music, and, of course, the special effects.

Great news! Congratulations to the cast and crew and may Season 2 be as brilliant as (or better than) Season 1!!
ReplyDeleteWohoo, another step forward for Season 2. Now they might tease us with more snippets. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the next season - so cooll!
ReplyDeleteSomething about this TV series is so grand an exciting! Can't wait for season two! Anyone know when the S3/S4 filming is due to take place?
ReplyDeleteSo filming on season 3 is just a few months away then?
ReplyDeleteThanks, great news! Cannot wait for an epic season 2! (and dragons and direwolves!)
ReplyDeleteAccording to a few unconfirmed sources including Charles Dance who plays Tywin Lannister, they will begin filming in May/June.
ReplyDeleteThere has been talk of filming Season 3 and 4 concurrently so the early start date makes sense, but I doubt there will be any "official" word until the Season 2 premiere. Soon after the ratings come out and are HUGE HBO will renew for 2 years and it will be official....
So I hope. XD
Sources say end of May or beginning of June, but nothing is confirmed just yet of course.

wooooot!! :D
ReplyDeleteI heard about the concurrent filming plan and is why I figured they'd start next season early. I figured they'd give it a go even before May / June but I guess something like this takes extra planning from all areas of production.
ReplyDeleteCool
ReplyDeleteNow if only the hiatus would wrap ....
ReplyDeleteAmazing news congratulations to the cast and production team.
ReplyDeleteWhen can we expect sea
ReplyDeleteSeems so unfair that we have to wait till April.....
ReplyDeleteMost likely in April, like this year.
ReplyDeleteI thought they finished a while ago? Guess not. Still have to wait ages to see it though :(
ReplyDeleteAwesome thanks!
