This looks awesome! Very convenient for people that just want the few series they watch and nothing else...
I will probably continue to use the current design since I like to see the all of the articles including the shows I do not watch. I learn about new shows, and sometimes better shows I have been missing out on that way.
I may use the new layout and just check everything and get the benefits of the new layout and still see all the posts. The best of both worlds! XD
Yep, I think that's the main idea. We'll be adding a few new features to the dashboard that we can't add to the current design due to technical limitations.
The main new feature will be a full Episode Database where you can see all the upcoming Episode info that we have for all your favourite shows with links to Press Release, Sneak Peeks, Promos and Promotional Photos etc As we normally get episode titles before most other sites it should be a good resource.
We'll also be able to expand this in future to DVD release, polls, email alerts and a host of other things in the pipeline. The main spoilertv.comsite will still be the primary focus and the dashboard should be seen as a power users tool.
Ha! Yeah this site seems to beat on servers. just when they get comfortable and are o ncruise control you go and tweak something, upgrade something or a flock of new commenters swarm the site! xd
Which reminds me..... have you noticed an increase in traffic after the CW forums closed? I assume it would mostly be on the forum side of things, but maybe on the main site too....
It's a little hard to tell about traffic due to the Holidays and the general decrease in Dec. We'll have a better idea in Jan/Feb when things ramp up again. We've certain had about 20 new people join the forums recently, mostly for Supernatural. It's a shame CW didn't give more notice then we could have prepared better but I guess that's why they didn't. They wanted all their old forum users to move to Facebook :(
Ah yes.... I for got about the hiatus and holidays...somehow! XD
Just need one of the regulars from each site's forum to plaster Facebook's wall with SpoilerTV graffiti so they all can follow the bread crumbs out of the woods...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

The overall concept, layout and the possibility of the future add-ons make it an awesome tool for sure.
ReplyDeleteThe connectivity and information will be easier to access.. always a good thing.
We hope so lol. Just crossing my fingers that the server does not implode when we go live.
