This is going to be a great episode.I wonder how she is going to deal with this situation, and Castle?
ReplyDeleteReally hoping that the mayor didn't really commit the crime! Can't wait:)
ReplyDeleteIt would be really interesting if Gates actually succeeded in her attempts to remove Castle from working with the detectives at the precinct. It would make Castle and Beckett more determined to get back together... professionally speaking, of course. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe Fillion ... swoon XD
ReplyDeleteShould be intriguing! I know we've already had one episode where an old friend of Castle's was the prime suspect, with Castle backing his friend and Beckett trying to stay unbiased, but bringing the Mayor into the story definitely gives an old plot a really interesting new angle. Looking forward to seeing how it plays out.
ReplyDeleteThe most interesting speculation from this for me is how it changes Castle's position on the team. Gates is not thrilled with having him to begin with. I would guess that having close personal ties to a suspect would at least get him officially booted off this case. If the Mayor's status is damaged, it could make it harder for him to work with Beckett. Now we all know they will still work together but it should be interesting to see how it all works out.
ReplyDeleteIf the mayor did commit murder, all his decisions will immediately come under fire including the one to insist Castle works with Beckett despite the police captain's objections. Castle would have to hope that the person next in line for mayoralty is also a fan or find some really juicy blackmail to hold over his or her head.
ReplyDeleteI think she would have ample cause to remove Castle from at least this case in particular. He has already proven to count the mayor his friend so I would think any prosecuting attorney would want his involvement to be minimal or risk tainting the case.
ReplyDeleteSince Castle is there voluntarily and is not an employee, showing cause isn't an obstacle. She can tell him to leave and not come back at any time. However, the Mayor's trouble gives Gates the opportunity to get rid of Castle permanently without any repercussions from the Mayor's office.
ReplyDelete(Obviously, that's not going to happen but it would make for a good story arc.)
this'll really cause Beckett and Castle to butt heads - he won't want to believe his friend had anything to do with it..
ReplyDeleteThis one sounds really intriguing. Lots of tension.
ReplyDeleteOh man! I CAN'T WAIT!!!! Sounds SOOO good! :D
ReplyDeleteOh wow this episode sounds fantastic! I can't wait to see it and learn if Castle really does continue working with Beckett (or will it take a few episodes of secrecy- :D)
ReplyDeleteOh boy, oh boy... Poor Beckett, feeling threatened to have Castle taken away from her, not to mention Castle, who once again, has to deal with a friend who is involved in a crime. And the threat to be separated from Beckett. Oh man.
ReplyDeletehello happy new year to all fans of castle

ReplyDeleteThanks for the update :) Wonder why they put the wrong title out there at first *confused* And didn't correct it for so long...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great episode.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good ep. Have to say I am getting a little tired of the whole Gates doesn't like Castle subplot though. I don't think it adds to the program or the relationships.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a tricky episode for Castle and Beckett, can't wait to watch it.
ReplyDeleteDo I have to scream Fillion again ... yes ... FILLION!!!
ReplyDeleteSeems good!
