Thanks to Philomina for the heads up.

Tamara Taylor has been in the main cast of the charming crime show "Bones - Die Knochenjägerin" from season 2 as Dr. Camille Soroyan. More precisely she's the boss of team of scientists that work closely with the FBI to help solve their murder investigations. In this interview Tamara talks about the aspects she likes most about her work, what she hopes to explore about her character Cam and she tells us a little bit about her first official acting job in the 90s.

1. How did you get into acting?

My Mom took me to see a Diana Ross double feature - Mahogany and Lady Sings the Blues. I think I decided that day that I wanted to act.

2. You play the forensic pathologist Camille Soroyan on "Bones". How did you prepare for this role or did you have certain storylines that you had to prepare specifically for?

I actually didn't get a chance to do much preparation before landing the role. I've basically been learning as I go along.

3. Which "Bones" storyline was the strongest and best one for you?

I really enjoyed doing the slave ship episode. There were a lot of interesting and complex emotions for me to dive into.

  2. I am the only one who thinks she has never really fit the show and never will? She is the person I am least interested in.

  3. I like Cam. I mean, when she actually has something to do on the show. :P

  4. I think it's great when performers take time out to do these amateur fan interviews but they're rarely ever entertaining or informative.  Surprisingly, this time I actually was informed of something I did not previously know - The role of Cam was originally planned as a guest role.  Did not know that.

  5. Sometimes I feel like Cam is just there to tell the others to find something for her instead of doing things herself (which makes sense since she's the boss). They don't get too many cases when she has to autopsy since this IS Bones but there does need to be that authority around too because Brennan wouldn't be the best boss lol.

  6. myFanbase is not an amateur fan site, rather an established German online magazine about tv series. Mostly the problem with Interviews outside the US is, that the actors (or their managers etc.) only allow questions regarding the broadcasting in Germany (or any other country) and not the broadcasting in the US...

  7. Sorry about the false assumption.  I didn't know that foreign interviews were typically that restrictive.  Thanks for setting me straight.

  8. I guess the studios/producers still think that viewers do not get the information they want via internet but rather wait for years until the shows are broadcasted in other countries. Actors themselves do not really care for this so on european conventions they talked about whatever they're asked. But in interviews they are sometimes not even allowed to answer questions about shows they're currently starring in but that haven't aired in the country yet. Really strange way to handel it...

  9. Nice piece. I love Cam! Specially her sarcasm. I'd love writing some of those cracks she does.
