James Hibberd at InsideTV has another exclusive today. This time it's the official key art (or "teaser art" as he put it) for the highly anticipated Alcatraz series on FOX. Enjoy
The text looks good. :) The colors are very reminiscent of the LOST promos, though. I suppose there's only so much difference you can have when it comes to mysterious islands.
I may like the fanart one better too. The darker background and the purple hue you mentioned just read better and m ore dramatic to me, but this monotone and foggy version seems to be more mysterious I guess.
Sometimes fanart is indeed better. We fanartists always joke about how studios show hire us to do their DVD art. Because some of it is laughably atrocious. :P
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Nice to have the official key art finally after a few fanart versions!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I love it.

ReplyDeleteI personally like the purple shades of the previous key art better, but hey, it still looks awesome!

ReplyDeleteDon't get me started! I cannot count the times I have thought to myself "If I only had their resources...."
ReplyDeleteI mean who would pay someone to do that Photochopped job on the Hawaii Five-O poster for Season 2? Or many others out there.... sigh.
I like it. Nice and moody.
