We're coming closer and closer to the 24 movie.
Imagine (the Brian Grazer/Ron Howard company) narrowed down their short list of potential directors to five. 5 names, none of them public, but Tony Scott isn't one of them anymore.
Also, they asked writer Mark Bomback to do some "last minute tweaking" on Billy Ray's script, as Deadline reports. Bomback will deliver his version of the 24 movie by the end of the month, and then it's been told things will move forward quickly, with a pre-production phase that would be set this Winter, with shooting starting probably in April, when Kiefer S. is available (aka when season 1 of Touch is completed).
Mark Bomback's previous work include Die Hard 4.0 (liked it !) and Unstoppable (not so much...). He recently wrote the upcoming Total Recall remake and James Mangold's The Wolverine (co-written with Christopher McQuarrie, who he also worked with on Jack the Giant Killer, the new Bryan Singer movie in theaters in June 2012).
The clock is ticking.

Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI sort of hate that so many canceled shows get the movie talk going for years and rarely does anyhting come of it. But it would be great if they can do this. For all the weaknesses the show had, I still really enjoyed and think it would look great on the big screen.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteSure it's mindless fun for the most part, but it is very fun mindless fun! XD The 2-hour or 90-minute real time format works great too. I've seen a few movies like that and most were quite good. Johnny Depp did one in 1995 I think that was fun... I forget the name.
Give me more Jack Bauer!
Give me no Kim Bauer!
I love the title! XD
ReplyDeleteLoving Elisha on Happy Endings. But no. Don't need her near 24 again, ha!
ReplyDeletegood to see something may finally come of this.
ReplyDeleteNow i'm realllllyyy getting excited so let the clock keep ticking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh,love the title! :)
