The Walking Dead - TV Line Blind Item - Who wants to leave?

How’s your vision today? Good? Good, ’cause you’re gonna wanna be 20/20 or better for today’s Blind Item. It concerns one of the stars of AMC’s The Walking Dead and their desire to… well, walk.

The backstage drama all started when series creator Frank Darabont was ousted. A whole lotta people were upset, you’ll recall, and this one person, so much so that he/she asked to be released from his/her contract. But, according to my moles, a funny thing happened between the time the request was made and when it was potentially granted.

A change of heart.

Now this member of the ensemble wants to stay. But it may be too late. (Even my sources don’t know for sure at this point whether the character is going to be written off, although one insider insists he/she ultimately got their wish.)

So, your guesses? Who’s the Darabont loyalist who wanted his/her Walking papers, then decided they wanted them torn up? Hit the comments below.

  1. Huh, I have too many guesses!

Please to not be Norman Reedus or Andrew Lincoln. I'm fine with everybody else.

  2. It couldn't possibly be Andrew Lincoln... I mean what the hell would happen to the series then!?!

  3. I'm voting for Sarah Wayne Callies ... or I would if there were voting buttons.  No reason why, just my first instinct.

  4. no please. The Walking Dead without Andrea might just be The Walking Dead without Rick. She's not even halfway through her transformation, either. Neither is Rick, for that matter. No one is. Character development takes time. Andrea isn't done transforming. The Andrea we saw shooting the zombies is only an ounce of what her final character will be. Give her a break.

  5. God no!
    I love her!

If anyone needs to go, I hope is T-Dog! Hahaha

  6. That's the most logical choice b/c he has worked with Frank for years.

  7. I honestly wouldn't mind if it were him. Anyone else I would be highly upset, even though I do like Dale. But he's old anyway lol.

  8. I'm guessing Jon Berenthal (sp?) - Shane

  9. That makes a lot of sense, but wow that would change the direction of the series without him. Isn't he one of the survivors that lasts throughout the comics? Well, into the late issues anyway....

  10. Don't want to give everything from the comics away, but he at least survives a lot longer in the comics.

  11. I am absolutely sure that someone will die in the season finale. T-Dog is one of the prime candidates, he already survived a lot longer than I expected.

  12. I think that Shane might die this season. But rather as a result of his journey and growing conflict with Rick. Things have been set in motion that make suspect this, but I don't think he requested to leave because Darabont left the show.

  13. DeMunn or McBride are the logical choices, they already worked with him before.

I have no problem with McBride leaving and I could also deal with Dale even though that would be a huge change from the comics. I'd like to see the hunter story done with him, but on the other hand I'm not sure they will do that on the TV show, that's kind of heavy stuff.

  14. Shane was already gone by now (in the comics) and him staying and hooking up with Andrea must be the natural exit since Dale was ment to be with Andrea in the comics (so I've learned yesterday here on another thread).

All in all, Shane becoming a very interesting and valuable character to the show may have been the proverbial final nail in Dale's "overcoat of four pine boards" (as we say here in Portugal).

  15. T-Dog could become an interesting character, but until now his role was to show Merle is a racist, to lose Merle's handcuffs' key (thus leading to Merle sawing his own hand) and to have that one-liner about the walker in the well (something about "not making anything stupid like shot him").

It doesn't seem a lot for one and a half seasons...

  16. Wow, don't know much about Frank Darabont but would love to know who it about? I do think the Walking dead need to kill someone off

  17.  Yes, but The Walking Dead without Rick would be a bigger blasphemy

  18. hoping it to be Laurie Holden. sorry but Andrea has turned into an arrogant idiot, but that's another rant in itself.
