I respect your opinion. But I disagree: besides smaller things going on (Andrea's mourning phase is coming to an end, but you couldn't just kill her sister, make her suicidal and then simply put her back on her feet again) you have Carl's near-death situation, you have discovered a new place to live (for the time being...), new characters were introduced (Hershel and family), the transformation of Daryl (from lone wolf to one of the alpha males of the pack) and Shane... Shane is showing us how low you will get based on survival instincts, and this has just begun, because this whole adventure is going for - what? - one month, from the characters perspective? Imagine how they all behave in a few more months of fighting for survival.
I can relate to some expectations on a faster paced story, but every action-packed, fast-paced, epic adventure phase must be preceeded by a "slower" build up of the right ingredients.
Have faith on the writers and producers :) (...as the actors have already showed us plenty of good stuff!).
lal that remain behind THE big story..which is running around in the wood after a stupid girl who ran away while his annoying mother keep on complaining^^; last year there was new stories every episode, new big thing happening, now that they have more episodes, we're having 1/4 of the season running in the wood after a girl
And you can have all the slow building up you want....if that's about new story....or at least something big....now it's a build up about searching a girl in the wood for 4 episodes and probably more..its just dragging the show down for me and all my friends
Quite frankly, I'm not even caring that much about Carol's drama, for me they are part of a "lesser group" of characters; also because I believe that if they intended to kill the little girl, she would be discovered in the area as the leftovers of an eaten corpse or as a certified zombie :)
My way of seeing things is as follows: the producers needed something to keep the main group of survivors separated in smaller groups or even pairs, this way giving the chance to three different settings (the farm, the highway/RV and the woods) and the best option was making someone lost from the group; this kind of situations tipically lead to a later gathering and consequential "explosion" of action and thril (for instance, remember the absence of Rick/Daryl/et al and the later gathering at the camp where the zombie attack was happening is season 1).
I am sure you (and your friends) won't regreat to keep following TWD as the next episode should be the awaited "explosion" of action and thril ;)
^^; 90% of the promos is all about searching that stupid little girl and nothing new hapening...i'm sure we'll all cancell AMC ou our tv next week, I already started to look for which channels I could pick instead of that one
^^; the girl plot isn't important at all? Promo 1: ''we have to find Sophia'' '''find this girl'' and for all we know they got in the well to search her + the car ''stay here Sophia''
Promo #2: ''Sophia!!!''/-Where is Sophia?/'' We,ll come again tomorrow''
the kiss is the 10% that isn't about the girl ^^; Sophia can rot in a ditch for all I care
I'm with AllyAF on that one, the first episode was great, the second was good too, like ''well ok the group is getting seperate, interesting how it will play out'' Episode 3: ''aahh ok...thing here and here happening....but can we get over with the 'searching the girl now?...'
And now the promos points in the direction that they'll keep on searching the girl. The plot can be good for 2 episodes, 3 is starting to get too much and 4 eps. to search a girl is just getting me tired too, especially when it's not a show where you have 20+ episodes, we have half of them and its all about finding a girl
Someone asked me what the serie was about and I had a hard time selling him since its the same plot for 4 episodes
Well, maybe I'm the outsider here, as I never gave much credit to zombie stories before. That was until TWD came, and probably what made me a fan was the human aspect, the evolving human condition; as a matter of fact, it is a zombie show where zombies themselves take less than 10 minutes on every 45 minute episode...
So, maybe I'm the one who sees it differently from the traditional zombie or horror fan who, in turn, would love to see more action, more gore and more zombies :) I totally can understand that point of view.
Not that I don't like the human aspect, like I said it was a good story one episode, guess it was good a 2nd.....but 4 episodes in a row of walking around in the wood searching a little girl? Easy to get tired fast
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I was thrilled to see Rick giving Carl his hat. About damn time!!
ReplyDeleteI hope something else happen in the episode other than searching the girl for the 4th episode in a row......
ReplyDeleteyeeahh!! in spanish!!
ReplyDeleteRick giving Carl the hat. Glenn/Maggie. Daryl. Awesome.

What's with Daryl searching for Sophia and placing that white flower? Hope it isn't a bad sign...

Hang in there, Ally. I happen to have been a little bit spoiled regarding Sophia. Something big is coming. Don't miss.
