Thanks to www.mycoven.com for the heads up
This week’s episode (airing Thursday at 8/7c on The CW) travels back 1,000 years to Viking times and, not surprisingly, the hour promises to be a mythological bonanza.
“There’s going to be a lot revealed about the Original family and where we came from,” previews Claire Holt, who plays the newest Original vamp in Mystic Falls, Rebekah. For those keeping track at home, the clan also includes blonde, bad boy brother Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and dearly missed Elijah (Daniel Gillies, who returns in this week’s episode). We’ll also meet the Original mother, the powerful Esther (Alice Evans).
“You get to see how [Rebekah] interacts with her family and what it was like back then,” continues Holt, who says the episode sheds light on “how her relationship with her brothers and how her relationship with Klaus developed. [You'll see] why they became so close and why they are so loyal to each other.”
Perhaps it has something to do with Mikael, the big bad vampire that sends daggers of terror through even Klaus. “You’ll learn that there’s a very good reason why they’re afraid of him,” teases Holt. “It has a lot to do with their history and why they are the way they are… He’s definitely a threat to them.”

Can someone tell me why Elijah is so popular? I never got the memo. :p
ReplyDeleteP.s. So psyched for tonight. :)
Love Holt's character so much, I hope she will never get staked.
ReplyDeleteNice to get to know more about Mikael!
ReplyDeleteWhat I'd like to know is why Elijah was so loyal to Klaus. From the big "Katarina"-flashback it didn't look like Klaus ever treated him all that well.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited.. I love the flashbacks on this show!
ReplyDeleteMaybe because he made a hell of a first impression to the viewers when he chopped Trevors head off with his bare hands. Or maybe it was when he flipped some coins at high speed to crash windows to the café that Damon, Rose and Slater was sitting and chatting in.
ReplyDeleteHowever, Elijah is the only one of the originals who has truly displayed his superiority as a original vamp.
I don't care, I just wanna know if Katherine's alive...
ReplyDeleteBad luck for Trevor I'd say. the poor chap was only running for his life at least show some pity. I didn't care for Elijah tho he proved more level headed.
ReplyDeleteyou and everyone else. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis episode will be epic!
ReplyDeletecant wait to learn more!!
ReplyDeleteHe's also not a total psychopath like his brother or a poorly written, Jeckyll and Hyde personality like Rebekah.
ReplyDeleteHe wasn't loyal to Klaus. Elijah had every intention of killing him until Klaus said he would show his brother where the rest of his family was. He spared Klaus out of loyalty to the rest of his family, not out of loyalty to Klaus.
ReplyDeleteNo, I meant in the flashback about halfway through season 2. I understand why Elijah isn't loyal to him now. But back when Klaus was going to sacrifice Katherine in the 1400s, or whenever, Elijah was with him and on his side. Trevor warned Katherine, not Elijah.
ReplyDeleteOh. I'm not sure that has been made clear. If the writers do their job well, we may find out the answer to that tonight.
ReplyDeleteI think Kevin Williamson likes that character too much to kill her.
ReplyDeleteI doubt she's dead. He seems to hunt only specific vampires. If he didn't, he'd have killed Stefan back in the 1920's. He's probably just using her.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. I'd say the next time we see Katherine, she'll be pissed off but no worse for wear.
ReplyDeleteEver watched H2O?
ReplyDeleteIt's a show about 3 girls who turned into mermaids. She plays Emma.
It's a good show. For teen girls. Didn't stop me from watching it.
But I must say I like her more as Becca. Emma is to princess perfect.
Ha! Ha!
ReplyDeleteMy bet: she is alive. Not that I miss her. She is never up to any good. So if she stays away from MF it's fine by me.
But I love to hate her.
I love to watch her together with Elena. Nina is such a great actor to play both parts
