I'd be cool with Marsters coming back! He was great, didn't love Carpenter. But, it makes sense, that spell he did would be super useful for fighting the Leviathans.
Okay, had some time to spare,so I watched some of the interview. He talks about SPN briefly(around 23:00 is anyone's interested). He basically says that he got along really well with the cast and that they(I assume Jared and Jensen),would want to see him back. And I quote:"And they have really big trailers,so they may have the power to convince them to have him back." After that he makes a small mistake, which I can't really blame him about, cause I don't think he knows too much about any characters or (most importantly)the fandom and how passionate we can be about some characters. They told him about the character of Cas and that he died,so he says that maybe Sam and Dean need a supernatural creature to help them from time to time.Okay,I admit,I liked the character a lot and I wouldn't mind seeing him again, but let's not get out of line here. : p All in all,he says that it depends on the writes, but he would like to come back.Don't know much about him,but he seems like a really nice guy!
Okay,to be clear,he doesn't say ANYTHING about replacing Cas.He doesn't know much about the show and someone simply told him about Cas and he said that now that he's "dead" they may have need of supernatural help sometimes. He mentioned it as a possible way of his character to return. That doesn't mean anything.
Besides,haven't we made it clear that Cas isn't dead?!Problem solved! : )
I'd love to see James as a recurring character on Supernatural, because I liked how he played Don Stark, I think there is some potential in the character that shouldn't be wasted.
^^; in the video James is saying that with Cas gone the boys could need some supernatural help, but it's really clear that he doesn't know much (or almost anything) about all the background story behind that (in the serie and in the fandom) since he couldn't remember Cas's name.
He's just saying the boys could need help and he think it could be a way to bring him back. that's all. People are just overreacting over nothing
Don Stark could never be a replacement for Cas, Cas was/is part of the Winchester family. He would just be some (supernatural) person that helps out from time to time. But I don't think James Marsters is coming back, don't really see why Sam and Dean would cross paths with him again, especially now they've got their Borax.
He said that he was told by cast and crew that there might be a need for occasionally supernatural help because the show had moved beyond Cas. Marsters doesn't know anything, but he was told by people who worked on the show they were looking to replace Cas.
I know, and the poor guy won't know what hit him if the fans lash out - he didn't seem to know much about the previous six seasons of the show. Buffy had (well, HAS) a huge fandom, but I think he's dealt with the positive end of it.. watch out, James!
I know, pretty bad right? But I don't even remember it ever even being on tv here. Back then, I was a bit young for those kind of series too, I guess. I was actually quite sceptic about two Buffy alumns being on Supernatural. I was afraid the episode would be mainly about them, so I didn't like the idea of them at all. And I ended up loving them, especially James. Life's funny that way.
definitely check him out on Buffy.. Spike ended up being my favorite part of the franchise, and he was only supposed to appear in an episode or two! strong fan support kept him around full-time for four seasons!
I'm sure it's not like that. We're making this a big deal when it's not. You're right,it did sound like someone told him that they need supernatural help now that Cas is gone, but Sera has already said that we'll see Misha again and I think we can all agree that the chances of seeing Cas again are more than good. No one is looking to replace Cas.
Dude I just sucked in a bunch of air in excitement. I would love to see some awesome Marsters action with the boys instead of just having them thrown about the room. Epic! *crosses fingers*
This comment is ALSO utterly hysterical. I think he was speaking in probabilities. It's always nice to have another ally in the middle of things, and you're well-minded enough to know that Cas is coming back.
Well, I guess we'll just have to see. I'm thinking that in a way they will write him out either by an actual death in the end of the season, or he'll just not be an everyday episode character, but I don't know if anything we know right now is legitimate.
If I wanted to be a troll, I'd say the trend is you're hating on Dean. However, these flaws in logic that Dean is experiencing has not eluded me. I'm just waiting for...as Dean would put it... "The other shoe to fall" to see what's in store for the rest of the season.
What ever happened to letting the brothers hack it out on their own. I wouldn't mind the addition of the character for an episode dealing with a situation that the brothers show up and HELP HIM OUT. And then be gone. But no more Supernatural SuperFriends. Please.
Castiel would have been much more effective in an advisory role. Language barrier and all. With an occasional smite thrown in.
haha funny. when everybody was discussing here why dean (and Sam) didnt kill Don and his wife, this is exactly what I was thinking: Maybe they're coming baaack!!! Yaaay.would be awesome
I think there's a definite possibility that we're taking an offhand comment and making it into more than it is.. but it's so easy to bristle at a statement like that - so many of us are hoping that we'll see Cas again that it's hard to hear that they may be done with him.. btw, I hadn't heard that Misha would be back.. that kind of made my day :)
That would be pretty neat. I thought Donald Stark was pretty cool. This is the only role I've ever seen him in, since I've never watched Buffy or anything, but. He was alright.
You don't think we will ever gonna see Cas again?Really?I don't know..I learned a long time ago that anything can happen on the show, but this is one of the things I'm pretty sure about. The "death" scene was so anti climatic,it would be a terrible waste. There's no way this was the death scene of a character like Cas. My guess is that he will appear on a different role, probably the LeviBoss and then we will learn that he's not dead.
I've been thinking about it and I believe that, just like with Bobby, they had their chance to kill off Cas for good and they didn't take it.So,anything permanent will probably happen close to the series finale, not before.
I love James he must come back to Supernatural! His Don Stark character is so different from SPike, yet I loved it. Also he has a J-name so he fits right in with The J-boys of SPN
I love James Marsters and I loved Shut Up, Dr. Phil, but I do not want another all-powerful being coming in to save the Winchesters when the writers back themselves into a corner. Don't mind if he comes back and teaches them a few basic spells or if the Winchesters try to kill him again, but no superbeings. Besides what incentive would Don have to help them. He repaid them for the marital counseling by saving their lives twice already.
I think there's some logic in getting rid of Cas and the angels. I don't agree with the decision, I think it's a richer show with the angels, but I think if they've decided Cas is gone, then he's gone. The original plan may have been bringing him briefly back later, just to die, but I don't think they'd risk stirring up the minions at this point if the plan isn't to bring him back for real.
I also think there have been far too many stories or loose ends lately that they haven't tied up nicely, so I don't think we should read too much into the anti-climactic death of Cas.
It sounds like people were just spit balling since he obviously hadn't heard anything by the writers. Could be they were on a break on the set and someone mentioned they'd love to work with him again. Then people brainstormed how it could be possible. Nothing about this interview sounded like he was aware of the inner workings of Supernatural. I highly doubt Don Stark is going to be a major character. In fact, right now, it doesn't sound like he'll be back on this year at all.
At this point, everything has teh Supernatural fandom in an uproar. Let's hope that tonight's episode doesn't make matters worse. Even formerly easygoing sites are issuing warnings after the sneak peeks. Ugh!
this is very true.. I feel like we're FINALLY getting back to what made the show so great in the first place - Sam and Dean, brothers, (a little more than above) average hunters, working together and doing whatever they can to save the world, little by little, person by person. we don't need any deus ex machina characters coming to magically (no pun intended) save the day, when the boys can manage on their own.
Not sure what this has to do with James Marsters returning and I really do not want to debate why I think that Dean was right to kill Amy or how he couldn't have done anything about Don or Maggie if he tried again. However, I think the trailers and some of the writers have done their best to portray Dean in the worst light possible this season. That is one trend I see. However, I think your second argument should be that Dean called Sam on hiding the fact that he was hallucinating and then lied to him about Amy. The powers thing was way too long ago and had much graver consequences.
Like I said,I'm confident that Cas will be back at some point.I mean,if the writers can do anything perfectly,it's death scenes.I guess practice does make perfect..
We'll just have to wait and see,I guess..And then you're gonna be happy that I was right..! :-p
I would love to see the witches came back. I don't know why some people jumps the gun here. The boys have other supernatural help before apart apart from Cas. Forgot about Tess, Death & even Crowley? & these guys knows spell. They could call on any supernatural help if they want to but hopefully not that desperate to do that. They did save Kali. Jesse is still around somewhere. Cas will be back, I'm quite confident on that. I just hope there would be a proper goodbye. & lovin Misha coz he's pretty busy with Divine right now.
Lol! Something reading thru the fandom 'fights' especially when SamGirl & DeanGirl & even the Minions butting head are pretty amusing. Love this show! Love the fandom!
My point was that if Don returns and Dean starts working with him, it's going to further undermine Dean's no-tolerance-for-body-dropping-monsters policy.
Not sure why the comparison to the season 4 lie doesn't work. I picked it because these were the two serious "betrayal" lies they've faced. There have been lots of other smaller lies, such as Dean telling Sam that John didn't say anything important before he died, but these two were the ones that stressed their relationship. Yes, there were serious consequences to the season 4 lie, but at the time, none of the characters knew for certain what was right. Even Bobby argued that Dean should allow Sam to use his powers against Lilith.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'd be cool with Marsters coming back! He was great, didn't love Carpenter. But, it makes sense, that spell he did would be super useful for fighting the Leviathans.
ReplyDeleteI love James. :D
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have Donald Stark back!
ReplyDeleteOMG That would be so awesome!
ReplyDelete:) I sure hope so
ReplyDeleteIt would be fantastic and really plausible even that he managed to deal with that Levi
ReplyDeleteso they replace Cas with a character that basically has the same function...
ReplyDeleteAnd they want us to believe they love Cas? I'm sorry. I love James Marsters, but I will never accept him as a cheap replacement for Cas.
that would be amazing! I've really missed him on TV, and I think he'd be a great addition for a few episodes
ReplyDeleteEven as a non-Buffy/Angel alum, that would make me very happy, I really enjoyed Don Stark's turn on the show.
ReplyDeleteOkay, had some time to spare,so I watched some of the interview. He talks about SPN briefly(around 23:00 is anyone's interested).

Yes please! I love James and I would be more than happy for him to come back.

ReplyDeleteBring back James Marsters!
I loved Don Stark, but the definite comments on Castiel will have part of the fandom in an uproar.
ReplyDeleteThis comment is utterly hysterical.
ReplyDeletelolwut? I don't see how Cas is being replaced by James Marsters... what on earth are you on about?
ReplyDelete^^; in the video James is saying that with Cas gone the boys could need some supernatural help, but it's really clear that he doesn't know much (or almost anything) about all the background story behind that (in the serie and in the fandom) since he couldn't remember Cas's name.

I'd never seen James Marsters before SPN, but I LOVED HIM!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, no kidding?? You never watched Buffy or Angel? He played Spike!
ReplyDeleteOMG CAN HE????? Especially since he can subdue Leviathans if they can't get their hands on some borax
ReplyDeleteHe said that he was told by cast and crew that there might be a need for occasionally supernatural help because the show had moved beyond Cas. Marsters doesn't know anything, but he was told by people who worked on the show they were looking to replace Cas.
ReplyDeleteI totally hope he and CHarisma return
ReplyDeleteNo it's not. What was the point in killing off Cas if they're just going to fill his role with someone else?
ReplyDeleteI know, and the poor guy won't know what hit him if the fans lash out - he didn't seem to know much about the previous six seasons of the show. Buffy had (well, HAS) a huge fandom, but I think he's dealt with the positive end of it.. watch out, James!

ReplyDeleteI don't think we're going to see Cas. I think we'll see Misha in a different role.
ReplyDeleteDean tells Cas he's wrong because "you don't work with demons." Dean, Sam and Bobby summon Crowley so they can work with him in taking Cas down.
ReplyDeleteDean throws a fit because Sam lied to him about using his powers. Dean lies to Sam about Amy.
Dean defends killing Amy because she was dropping bodies. Dean partners with Don who he met because Don and his wife were dropping bodies?
Anyone else see a trend here?
That would be awesome , I love James, I really loved him as Spike in Buffy and I liked the character he played in Supernatural ;)
ReplyDeleteThis comment is ALSO utterly hysterical.

ReplyDeleteShame they didn't bring in James years ago, he has a big fan base. It could have been great for the show.
ReplyDeleteYou have a weird sense of humor. :P
ReplyDeleteWhat ever happened to letting the brothers hack it out on their own. I wouldn't mind the addition of the character for an episode dealing with a situation that the brothers show up and HELP HIM OUT. And then be gone. But no more Supernatural SuperFriends. Please.

ReplyDeleteSeriously? who's talking about replacement??? :)
ReplyDeleteEvery time someone mentions Don Stark I think of the actor on That 70's Show.
ReplyDeleteIt would be very useful to keep a guy around who can knock out a Leviathan. I approve.
ReplyDeleteThat would be pretty neat. I thought Donald Stark was pretty cool. This is the only role I've ever seen him in, since I've never watched Buffy or anything, but. He was alright.

The only reason why they didn't kill them is.. They are too powerful! It's not like they didn't want to but they coulnd't!
ReplyDeleteWould love to see James Marsters back.

dont see how hes a replacement to cas, he could be back villainous like crowley

yeah, I loved clueless, confused Cas.. so adorable!
ReplyDeleteWould be totally AWESOME!!!!!
