I think I will look the New Jersey Devil. Texas has its bigfoots and Arkansas has the Fouke Monster. Be interesting to see what's in New Jersey. This sure looks like a good episode.
It seems strange to comment that you don't watch a show on that show's thread unless it's just for badge points. However, I highly encourage you to try Supernatural. It is strangely addictive. I am a fan of both Supernatural and Fringe.
I rewatched this teaser just because I thought I saw him but wasn't sure. I'm glad that the Leviathans are making a reappearance in this episode. Odd that he says monsters don't exist so he must be talking to a non-Leviathan, which could be very interesting. I wonder if the new plan is to send monsters, etc. after the Winchesters. It would be a different twist on them always looking for a case.
It does seem like the season just started. I think season 7 has gelled together more than season 7 and has been a lot more fun than seasons 4 and 5. They were smart to have one major enemy this year instead of "guess the villain" from last year. Overall, this season is the best since season 3 pre-writer's strike for me. It's great to know that Supernatural can still surprise me after 130+ episodes and even better that it is still my favorite show 7 years in.
http://americanfolklore.net/folklore/2010/07/what_is_the_jersey_devil.html in case anyone is interested. The boys and Bobby on a hunt together warms my heart.
It is true that the season has gelled together quite nicely which after last season it is a great thing to see...and the fact that there is one major villain is great!
hi laura3341, You're right At first Spn seems just another "monster of the week" show but the core of it is really on the characters emotions and reactions to each others and to what they live. I'm sure you'll enjoy spn the more by starting from the very beginning. Enjoy both shows and feel free to come and drop a comment anytime you want :-)
You totally spotted one of the the major dysfunction from season 6. This season has a strong and smart vilain. Plus I love how Leviathian knows eveyrything about them, Sam and Dean are totally cornered, and loosing cas who was a strong and ressourcfull ally is a hard blow for them. I'm glad S7 rocks, at least Sera can get some recognition instead of fan bashing. As much as I enjoy this season, I still miss Cas like hell and I hope we'll see him again. I remember I was also devastated when tptb killed "sir" John Winchester. He was a such an interesting and conflictedcharacter. I still miss him too :-D
Season 4 is my fav, but season 7 is definitely better than 5 and 6. I'm loving the Leviathan storyline, finally they've come up with a true Big Bad and I'm looking forward to seing more of the boys' struggle to hunt them. It's also exciting cause there is this ever lasting threat of something cracking in Sam's mind and things getting really ugly. I'm still waiting for us to find out about Sam's hell at least as much as we knew about Dean's and how it will affect everyone. Plus, I have a feeling Crowley still has some major part to play in all this.
I also love the back to the roots feel of this season, something I was expecting to see in season 6. Simple ghost and demon hunts, mosters in the woods, struggles with police... they're basically giving me everything I was bitching about the lack of last season.
I agree season 7 seems to be passing too quickly. We've had 8 episodes already? I want mooooore!
I started to watch Supernatural when it first came on but it was sporadic and i eventually stopped.I went back to it one night i had no idea what was going on,that is why i need to start from the beginning...........I check out many threads on this site,i like to see promo, sneak peeks, comments on shows that i don't watch, but may be interested in now or down the road.I would of commented on this thread regardless of points.
Laurie, are you from NJ? We vacation there at the Jersey Shore every year! My Dad is from Totowa (near Paterson) and my uncle still l lives at the beach 6 months out of the year. Our place use to be near Seaside Heights and Pt. Pleasant, if you are familiar with the area.
Yay, LeviaBoss! and Jersey Devil sounds interesting. Gonna have to look it up...But I think it's one of those episodes where they think it's one thing and it turns out to be another.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Looks good! I'm so excited for Friday's episode, mostly because I've learned a lot about the Jersey Devil. It's fascinating!

ReplyDeleteTheres a tv trope for that - its called Big Bad roulette. :)
ReplyDeleteTheres no such thing as monsters? Interesting and slightly disturbing at the same time. Hopefully not an "all in your mind" thing.
ReplyDeleteLooks good.
ReplyDeleteAnd Sera was right making a Ben Edlund episode after the premiere and one before the midseason. More Ben Edlund please.
ReplyDeleteBesides the new three writers are good: ben ackler, ben blacker y robbie thompshon.
