----------

-Ratings Breakdown:
New England at the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football led NBC to an easy overnight victory, with an estimated 14.7 rating/22 share for the primetime portion (from 8:30-11 p.m.). Combined with pre-game Football Night in America and NBC’s advantage over No. 2 CBS last night was a hefty 45 percent. Keep in mind, of course, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate. Here is the half-hour breakdown:

Sunday Night Football (NBC)
8:30 p.m.: 14.2/21 (#1)
9:00 p.m.: 14.6/21 (#1)
9:30 p.m.: 15.5/23 (#1)
10:00 p.m.: 15.1/23 (#1)
10:30 p.m.: 14.2/23 (#1)

Football Night in America (NBC)
7:00 p.m.: 2.2/ 4 (#4)
7:30 p.m.: 3.9/ 6 (#4)
8:00 p.m.: 9.4/15 (#1)

In week four news, it looks like Once Upon a Time on ABC is a definite hit with a consistent 7.4/11 in the overnights at 8 p.m. Comparably, that built from lead-in America’s Funniest Home Videos (#3: 4.2/ 7 at 7 p.m.) by 76 percent. Year-ago occupant Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was considerably weaker at a 5.4/ 8 on 11/14/10. And last night’s overnight tally is only 11 percent below its debut on Oct. 23 (8.4/13). Needless to say, I am personally eating a large plate of crow given how I predicted Once Upon a Time would not succeed. Gulp!

Despite the improved lead-in support, soon-to-conclude Desperate Housewives at 9 p.m. (#3: 6.5/10) dipped year-to-year by 24 percent (8.5/12 on 11/14/10). Episode seven of Pan Am at 10 p.m., meanwhile, fell to a series-low 4.4/ 7 at 10 p.m. ABC may want to rethink that additional script order.

Over at CBS, granddaddy 60 Minutes finished a comfortable second with a 9.9/16 in the overnights at 7 p.m. While the skew will, of course, be older, this is still a “thumbs up” based on the overnights. Odd-fitting lead-out The Amazing Race was on the 8 p.m. map with a 7.1/11, which was on par from one year earlier. Next on CBS were scripted dramas The Good Wife (#2: 7.3/11) and veteran CSI: Miami (#2: 6.8/11) from 9-11 p.m. Although The Good Wife built by seven percent from year-ago occupant Undercover Boss (6.8/10 on 11/14/10), the results among adults 18-49 will definitely be considerably lower.

Last, but not least was Fox, which got a huge boost care of the half-hour Football overrun at a 16.0/26 in the overnights at 7 pm. That led into post-game The OT at a second-place 9.9/16 at 7:30 p.m., which will no doubt win the time among adults 18-49 (and all male demos). Fox, unfortunately, has sprung a leak at 8:30 p.m. with week three of animated comedy Allen Gregory at a very last-place 2.8/ 4 in the overnights at 8:30 p.m. Comparably, that dipped by 33 percent from year-ago time period occupant The Cleveland Show (4.2/ 6 on 11/14/10), with retention out of lead-in The Simpsons (#4: 5.2/ 8 at 8 p.m.) of only 54 percent. Chances are returning Bob’s Burgers will be back sooner than Fox anticipated.

With weaker lead-in support, Fox’s Family Guy at 9 p.m. was down by 16 percent year-to-year (4.9/ 7 to 4.1/ 6), followed by American Dad at an also fourth-place 3.1/ 5 at 9:30 p.m.

  2. Got to say I am surprised Once Upon A Time is getting such large ratings.  Just goes to show, can't really predict what will work and what won't.

  4. Ditto! I don't think anyone could have imagined that "Once Upon a Time" - of all new fall series - would be such an impressive ratings success. I'm glad for ABC.

  5. Andy - something cool to add would be an up or down arrow to demonstrate how the show is doing based on the previous week's ratings.  I think TV Addict does something similar.  Just a thought.

  6. Pan Am's stuck to a 1.8 in the demo, at least it's not showing a decline.

  7. Thanks, I'll see if it's possible although I think it may require a little too much time unfortunately.

  8. Once Upon a Time is turning out to be one of my favourite shows! Im glad its doing well, and I so hope it sticks around for awhile! And to think I wasn't even going to bother watching the pilot. Goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover, or in this case a TV show by its promos ;)

  12. Andy,it seems we are still having problem with points. It seems the Facebook button is not being calculated into the points,i checked the math with total points on top,hit the facebook button, checked total points again, but the 10 points is never factored in.Its pretty disappointing for i use Facebook on almost every post,i am missing quite a few points. And i still don't think the points i had on Sunday were ever included.Sorry to bother you,i know your busy. :)

  13. Yep, I think Badgeville are having some issues. I've logged several support tickets with them. We'll just have to be patient and hope they can fix the issues soon :)
