  1. It was so good. But seriously, WTF IS SOPHIA?

And whoa, Lori's pregnant! (That's what the plus sign meant, right? I'm pretty sure that's what it was.) Wonder who the dad is.

LOL at the zombie in the well.

  2. In the pharmacy, did anybody think of the Burt Reynolds line from Smokey and the Bandit?

"I only take my hat off for two things"

  3. Dialogue between Rick and the doctor was A+. Nice job on the well scene, too.  Poor Sophia is getting closer to Zombieville.

  4. I feel for Shane after being asked to speak for Otis. Even if you found the act repugnant, to have to speak for Otis just adds more stress and guilt on top of the mountain of guilt already there!

Glen's the "go to town" expert? XD
Personally I think Daryl "goes to town" more often - he goes to town on zombies every episode! XD

"Hello farmer's daughter!" XD XD      "Yep, doing great. Living the dream!" XD XD
The TV series needs more Glen, I swear!

Why they did not tie the rope to a Horse or a car I do not understand. Soon as I saw their plan I was thinking to was something even Bridget on Ringer would think was too stupid to attempt! Glen rocked it out nonetheless!

Anyone else picture Jack Black as the zombie in the well?

Nice that Maggie brought up sex. At times I've felt sex as a topic was missing from the series. I've always heard that near death experiences make people horny.... Something to do with the ingrained desire to keep the species alive. You'd think more people would want it as a stress relief if nothing else. Eventually need to repopulate the living world too. That can wait until a safehaven is established of course, but until then .... sex is AOK.

The Hershel and Rick scenes were awesome! Grade "A" quality acting, writing and directing work right there!

  5. Honestly I can see Sophia being missing for a very long time if not forever (or until her death of course). I mean a kid gets lost in the woods and organized search parties with dogs can take days to find them... IF they do find them at all.

It would take a ragtag group of stressed out, non-woodsmen exponentially longer to find a missing kid. If they had found her right away it would have seemed very contrived to me.

  6. ^^; Seriously? That annoying little girl is still missing?? Where's that person the other day who told me he had a spoiler about Sophia and told me to watch the 4th episode......

they'll search her all season...and maybe more after that. They'll rename the show the ''The Missing girl'' soon

    ReplyDelete
  7. I have a feeling she's going to end up with Merle.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I haven't see the episode yet, but look by your comments that Sophia is still missing...so i'm voting awful for dragging that thing for almost half the season now ..... I was hoping for a good episode to stick around, but guess I don,t even need to, don't want to see 40 others minutes of running around in the wood for that girl

    ReplyDelete
  9. Not much time spent on the girl.  Darque's point about search parties is spot-on.

    ReplyDelete
  10. ^^; too late, this episode was suppose to be the last chance to the serie, now I won't even bother looking to see them looking for Sophia again. I'm calling tomorrow the cable to have HBO remove from my tv

    ReplyDelete
  11. Good call on the search parties!

    ReplyDelete
  12. That would be a great way to reintroduce Merle!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well, I'm sure she will turn up sooner or later. In real life it would be very realistically that they'll never see her again, but it's a TV show. She will turn up again, alive, dead or as a zombie.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Come on, voting awful without having seen the episode just because there's one fact you dislike? A bit premature...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Good episode. The overall quality of the season so far is pretty good even though it's not exactly near the comics. But I've made my peace with that and enjoy the fact that I don't know what's gonna happen and that pretty much everyone could die at any time.

Still majorly annoyed by Andrea. Like her in the comics, also kind of liked her in s1, but don't like a bit where they are taking her character so far.

That zombie in the well was pretty disgusting. And doing all that work for nothing was a bit cruel.

Best parts this time were - like usual - Daryl and Glenn who added some humour.

    ReplyDelete
  16. She probably will be found alive I wager, but you never know...

My mom told me that on one of her soap operas she's been watching for 30 or 40 years that one young boy Bobby went up to the attic to grab his skis and go skiing.... and was never heard from on the series again! XD
They just wrote him off the show and never commented on it.

I guess something like 25 years later they had some one cleaning the attic and they found a skeleton wearing a ski cap that had his name on it! XD

I never liked soap operas, but that's pretty funny to me....

    ReplyDelete
  17. "Yep, doing great. Living the dream!"
My favourite line of the show. Ha definitely agree it needs more Glenn!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Looks like Lori's pregnancy is the information Jenner whispered, just like many predicted. Which means Rick knew before she did, and has probably figured it out. One of the Talking Dead discussions was how hard it will be to take a newborn on these excursions. Just how long can they stay at Hershel's farm?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hershel's farm was way less cushy in the comics I believe, way more passing zombies. I don't see why they theoretically couldn't just live there in the show.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Looking back, I didn't really mind the Sophia plot-line, I find her a bit dull to be honest, but it's not something I'm totally adverse to.
That being said, if they haven't found her by the mid-season break (which is when I'm thinking it'll happen), it would be a hell of a long time to drag it out.
When there's so much source material from later on in the series which is more interesting, spending more than 6 or 7 episodes on missing Sophia seems like a waste.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Dragging a whole half a season and maybe more on searching a girl in the wood is suppose to be awesome and incredible or whatever?

    ReplyDelete
  22. that's EXACTLY why I putted awful to the episode, for wasting half a season on that story while there's so many others things to be told

    ReplyDelete
  23. OMG - Daryl in that creepy house.  I normally get nervous in a situation like that but this time I could only wait with breathless anticipation for Daryl to beat down some zombie.  The sneak peak they showed during HoW made me a little nervous for next week. XD

Lori is pregnant and not happy about it:  does this mean the baby is not Rick's?  Or that after her questioning raising a child in this world she is not sure she wants to have a baby at all?

Ok the zombie in the well was gross but not as much as when they got it out ... was there anyone here who didn't know they were going to tear it in half?

Glen is hilarious ... and more than a little crazy - who else would let themselves be used as walker bait.  That being said, he lassooed that bitch proper.

Andrea seems to be finding her inner bitch.  Now that someone finally gave her a gun, she doesn't want to let go of it and will bring the attitude to keep it.  Chill bitch - there's plenty of walkers for you to kill.

Daryl - I loved his monologue at the end.  It really shows how far his character has come since Atlanta.   He still brings up Merle at least once per Ep so I hope this means a return is forthcoming.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Glen is hilarious and adds much needed lightness to the show o' gloom.. lol Agreed and loved Darryl's story of the Cherokee rose as well and have loved his character's growth so far, but wonder how things will change if you've seen the preview for the next ep.... looks like 5 fingers Merle is back....

    ReplyDelete
  25. Another great episode. Glenn is so funny (and nice to see that sex is not forgotten - loved that it was Glenn that got some :-)  )
Daryl is amazing, I feel like I´m on high alert when his scenes come. Can´t wait to see him with Merle next week.
It´s not bothering me so much that they are still looking for Sophia. There is plenty of other stories and it makes it more "realistic".
Andrea is not so interesting right now, but it feels like they are building up to a good story for her.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It's not awesome, but there's much more to the show than just looking for Sophia and without having seen that and complaining about it feels rash to me. It's not like they are looking 40 minutes for Sophia and then next week it's the same all over again.

  27. Sorry but i had the same problem with my cat.I was able to read your comment,Hope the Bears
are winning!  I have to go now,my husband needs the computer, our last 2 died,so now we have to share(bummer), Have a good night!

  28. I thought The Walking Dead was on AMC.
I have a feeling you're not a fan of serialized television? The first 4 episodes have taken place over the course of 2 maybe 3 days and if they had found the child immediately, I'd bitch because it was like "why all the hoopla over nothing?"

    ReplyDelete
  29. Glenn was great. I loved the zombie in the well. I think Daryl is probably the best character on the show for all he does.

The dialogue for Mr. Sheriff has finally become bearable, and even poignant. I really enjoyed that character in this episode unlike the last few that just had me cringing while he spoke to inanimate objects. Shane's dilemma is a good one, and I knew they were going to put him in that position as soon as I saw them making the monument of rocks. It reminded me of the episode of Homeland when Brody was describing (falsely) how his partner died in battle, when actually he was forced(?) to beat him to death.

Lori (and her awesome tell-offs this season!) had to go and spoil the fun by being pregnant. I mean, hasn't Shane done enough already? Now he'll be hated by EVERYONE.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Please feel free to stop watching. Just get your facts right because it isn't halfway through the season...Season 2 will have 13 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have a feeling it won't stay that comfortable for long. Does anyone else hear every single sound they make on that farm? They weren't being very quiet at all. And to have a line of cars driving up and down the street periodically, and to take trips out to that school or the pharmacy, eventually those things will lead to the house being completely overtaken. I could see that the moment we stumbled upon it.

Of course this is just my guess at what will happen.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't remember liking Merle particularly. I was kinda hoping he was zombie kibble. I guess not.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Agreed. They didn't even spend a whole lot of time on the Sophia story this week. And what we saw was mostly suspenseful scenes with Daryl by himself in the wild. Who could complain with all those times I could've SWORE there was going to be a zombie behind the door!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Rick may have known Lori was pregnant before Lori. I'm thinking Jenner may have whispered it to him in the finale last year. IF she was already pregnant when he did the blood tests he would have noticed.

So Rick may know it can't be his depending on how long he's been out of the coma and when he and Lori first had their first post-coma sex and how far along Lori is etc.

I wonder if the comic books have a more defined time span for the first season. The second season has just been a few days so far. My guess is the first season was a month or two tops and maybe more like a few weeks.

I have no clue honestly though. XD

    ReplyDelete
  35. Stix, is there any time references in the comic books to let us know how long the first season was? This season seems to follow  almost a day per episode, but I don't think last year was like that exactly....

    ReplyDelete
  36. From the top of my head I can't think of anything. I guess the only reference we have is Lori's pregnancy. At least in the comics she isn't sure whether Rick or Shane is the father, so I suppose the first season covered a timespan of maximum 3 months, but I guess 1-2 months is more realistic.
In the comics they also spend a bit of time at another place before they get to Hershel's farm, so things could be different anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Which they are telling in addition to that. It's not just that story.

    ReplyDelete
  38. You're right - Merle is a complete d-bag and there is nothing likeable about him.  The thing is he practically raised Daryl resulting in Daryl being a complete tool when we first meet him.  Now that Daryl has been without his influence I think it is going to be vastly entertaining to see how these 2 come back together - I'm not remotely excited to see the return of a racist prick like that but the drama will be soooooo tasty :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. :P yeah you,re right sorry its cause I changed AMC for HBO

    ReplyDelete
  40. I know but we have 4 episodes, next week will be the 5th episode they'll search for her, it's almost half season and there's 99% chances they're still search for her at episode 6...maybe 7 too, that's halfway.

the season final cliffhanger at episode 13 will be for them to find a hjair of the girl, the season premiere they'll find a piece of clothe on the road so in season 3 they'll serach for her on the road all season long xD

    ReplyDelete
  41. they could do a lot more of stories if they weren't dragging that boring storyline every single episode.

    ReplyDelete
  42. In season 1, in 2-3 days we went from the hospital to the city, to the camp, returning to the city with some other big scenes, then the attack at the camp, follow by going on the road...

In 2-3 days in seasons 2...well....they're at the same place, they're running around in the wood searching for a girl too stupid to stay at one place for 5 minutes...they're staying on a farm where pretty much nothing is happening except maybe the shooting

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ahh, nice catch.  I'd forgotten about Jenner whispering in Rick's ear.  That must've been it.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The Sophia thing isn't a problem for me.  Their search for her is realistic to me... what wasn't realistic was the way she just vanished in the first place.  I'm not really bothered if they find her or not, but they have to search for her, don't they?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Instead of a long, drawn-out analysis of the episode, I'll get right to the point:
Yay! bloated well zombie.  Boo! pregnancy storyline.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Sorry but I think this season is awful. It's just so slow and boring and now they do the "Who's the father" storyline? Come on...

Don't think I'm gonna watch much longer. Another season with 6 episodes probably would have been much better.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm not so sure about that. I think that the writers wanted something else happening in addition to the farm storyline because they knew that it wasn't very exciting by itself, so they made the missing Sophia storyline. Also, the search for Sophia is probably how they're going to find Merle.

    ReplyDelete
  48. The girl being missing gives the characters a base for them to build on and have other plotlines around that framework of looking for her.

It is a daft reason to hate this season, it's just one of the running plotlines...

    ReplyDelete
  49. Just with the shooting its giving a chance for the character to stay at the farm, to have all their character building or whatever. No need to add the running in the wood episode after episode after episode...after episode.

When shows drag minor things over couple of episodes, everyone complain even if there's 22 episodes or more in a season, but when TWD drag something for 4-5-6...I'm betting 7 and more episodes, when there's only 13 episodes instead of 22, everyone is making the happy danse or whatever?^^; the logic would be that its more 'ok' to waste episodes when you have 22, not when you have 13...its weird

    ReplyDelete
  50. :) I'm all with you buddy

    ReplyDelete
  51. ^^; its not only slow and awful.....but I don't understand why they also waited time on the ugly one in the well......I mean seriously? They would take a chance to drink that water? If you can get infected by the bit, it's cause the virus is in the saliva and there's 99,999999% chance than the saliva touched the water already, getting him out or not....

just a waste of time and episodes since the start cause they have 7 extra episodes to waste
