except for that ONE dair scene and the cuteness of drunk!dan that episode was a complete bore. and next week looks like its going to suck all over again ...
When Dan was lovesick over Serena in season one he just always had the goofy grin all over his face when she was around it was so obvious. Still not seeing that between him and Blair. Honestly my love for Chuck aside I do not see what everyone sees between those two. It seems a little forced by everyone involved. I'm also getting tired of whiny Dan. I miss the witty and fun Dan of season 1!
The actors themselves seem to see it too. Blair deserves better, doesn't matter if it's Dan or someone else, but someone with a clean slate. The only forced thing that I see is this sudden change for Chuck. After all the things he has done, this change is so that people forget that and "ooh look, he is suck a nice guy". It feels forced and fake.
in general i wish the writing on this show was better. season one was so good and even though there was some far fetched drama as you expect from a primetime soap it was just so fun and original. since season one it has been losing steam. the acting is there the talent is there and the premise is there but the writing is just lacking. they mess things up in some totally absurd way and then they force a solution that is equally out of character and it just becomes a mess.
I loved Chuck and Dan's relationship in this episode.. I'd love for them to hang on the outside together for a while longer - they have such a fun dynamic! I'm glad Chuck helped Dan realize some things about himself.. it needed to happen
I also had an "awwww" moment when we saw that Nate hadn't sent any posts to Gossip Girl.. how sweet is that?
I'm glad Blair's seeing the devious (and kind of ruthless) side of Louis - I'm ready for that relationship to be over..
Wow, just, wow, it was an OK episode, I guess, the writerss need to pull their heads out of their asses, ASAP! Did you know that GG is the least watched show on Network television? I don't think they are going to get another season, so they better make this one count. I miss Hellcats.
A quick aside: Why is Nate still on this show? His storylines are never interesting and that's why Dan didn't bother to give him his own character in that book. And how is he Dan's bff, when he has always been with Chuck for like the last 2.5 seasons?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
awesome!! those Duck scenes... AWESOME!

ReplyDeleteChuck and Serena were both perfect this episode, and Duck is an adorable friendship.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually loving Nate's story line this season. Best for him since season 1.
