  1. EXTREMELY disappointed with the writers. Come on. You bring back Jonah and have infinite possibilities to make for an epic second half of the season and you pull that crap? Jesus Christ what a letdown.

  2. What would you have honestly preferred? I liked that this episode was pretty much contained because there is already a lot going on with the Doomsday Killer plot.

We got a glimpse of Dexter without any self-control and that was enough. Brian couldn't have stayed around any longer because we saw what happened to Dexter when he let his Dark Passenger take even a little bit of control. If this had gone on longer Dexter would be killing people in convenience stores, foregoing the ritual that helps keep him from getting caught, and drawing all kinds of attention to himself.

Jonah is still out there and has to deal with what he has done. He may even come back later. They didn't wrap this up completely. There are some loose ends from that trip to Nebraska. Imagine what would happen if Jonah killed himself but they thought Trinity had come back. How many people saw Dexter, aka Kyle Butler, talking to Jonah? Dexter still has the pen with the address of his motel on it. The motel where the manager mysteriously disappeared. His body was dropped in a feed silo so it isn't like it won't be found eventually.

  3. I loved this episode.
If you go back and watch season 2 episodes "It's Alive" and "Waiting to Exhale' you can see how Brian represents crossroads for Dexter's identity to have control or to not. (In Dexter's fb's he got really upset when Harry canceled a hunting trip. Dexter shot harry in a fit of rage, showing the audience what a challenge it was for Dexter to have control over his urges)

We see that a life with Brian would come with dangerious consequences...and in fact I have a feeling since Dexter did just about everything wrong (against Harry's code) in this episode, that things may come back to haunt him.

I was glad he took the time to ask Jonah about what happened and that Dexter proved to the fans, that unlike Nick, Jonah didn't deserve a horrific fate...that this situation could present itself with Harrison someday...He proved he can forgive and he can let go the darker sides of himself (Brian).

I don't know if this is the last we will see of Brian, but I like the idea that he is a representation of the worst aspects of Dexter and that Dexter was forced to fight that aspect in order to attempt to continue to attempt to be a better person, and choose who he wants to be. (more like Harry)

  4. I get it. As a standalone episode it was fine. But for the rest of the season it was a letdown. If they bring him back, great. But until then I wasn't a huge fan, as per its implications.

  5. At first I was excited about the prospect of Brian and Jonah being back, but I was surprised to note that I really wasn't feeling that episode.
Someone was whining in spoilers about bringing Brian back for just one episode, but I'm glad he's gone to be honest. I think I would've enjoyed the episode more if he hadn't been in it, I found him annoying more than anything else and wished he would just shut up.Dexter without boundaries simply seems to be stupid Dexter to the writers and I'd rather not have that.

  6. I think the episode would have worked better without him as well. The point of him being there really didn't work. I actually think this season as a whole is all over the place in a not so good way.
