Wow, what an awesome ep that seemed to fly by.... Loved the moments between Martha/Castle, Alexis/Kate, and of course who can forget Kate's face: when she was facing down Trapper John on the phone, when she heard the explosion, and of course her joyful relief when she knoew Castle was safe and cut him free.... sooooooo good
As freaking usual, for all episodes of season 4 so far. There has been no lower 'ranking' for me. I love season 4 so far and it can only get better. :D
Oh wow... The poll results right now are through the roof: 208 votes for "Awesome," vs. a measly 6 votes for "Good," 1 lonely vote for "ok," and not one single solitary vote for "poor" or "awful." And the best part? 208 people (97% - whooohooo!) got it exactly right.
That episode was glorious, epic greatness. So glad it lived up to my impossibly high expectations!
The scene when Kate was asking for 20 min for the bus, "i got 20 do you hear me 20 because if you pull that trigger i will walk through those doors and personally put a bullet through your skull" Kate is amazing!! i love her
Amazing episode, truly amazing. There was so much to love about it that I could write a whole fricking page, and I rewatched immediately afterwards because it just blew by so fast. Kate is amazing and her face...oh my God, it said so much so many times especially when she just stared at Rick like they were the only ones there. She is such a bada** too, love how fierce she got with Trapper John! Martha was outstanding, but oh I think I wish as much as Rick did that she didn't interrupt when Kate got in to rescue them haha. Loved the Alexis/Kate reconciliation and I'm glad Alexis is standing up for herself, Ashley was being a jerk. Ryan and Esposito provided most of the humor this time, loved "Castle Jr." and "Supercop" and that Esposito was running to go pick up the mom and her kid. And the end? Fantastic! Now I'm going to track down the number of times they've saved each other and keep score too :) Awesome nods to the TV shows with the bank robbers, that was a great touch. Gah so much love for this, definitely just became one of my favorites!!!!!
Touched all the bases, one of the best episodes ever. I could go on and on, but I'll leave that for others, and I'm sure there will be many. Great job, Andrew and crew, I mean really great job.
I thought Martha wanted more grandchildren. Apparently not yet. That was some serious walls-crumbling-down-I'll-ravish-you-right-here-I-don't-care-who's-watching eyesex scene. But then she hugged her daughter-in-law so all's forgiven.
There were 2 main things that made this episode even more special:
- Beckett not acting so physically distant towards Castle: hand holding, collar stroking (it was an improvement from just untying him on 3XK) and 2 very uninhibitet and sincere smiles (with no attempt of suppressing them) showed a nice character growth IMO. Nice acting from Stana, specially regarding the smiles. I believe it was the first time we saw Beckett smile so intensely and in an "unfiltered" way.
- Beckett being warmly accepted by Martha, because I thouught they would put Martha kinda against Beckett, pushing Castle to go date other women and seeing Beckett as the one that is putting him on hold. That was an interesting point.
I gotta say I hate Martha for breaking that AWESOME moment between Castle and Beckett. Rick's face is priceless, I bet he was thinking " I could kill you right now, mother!!" LOL and Beckett too. I've loved this episode and everyone on it! You're all great guys!
Personally I had a lot of thinking happening after the final scene: can you imagine being Beckett, with effectively _no_ family life, watching the Castle family interact? It'd be intoxicating! I think Kate's deeper struggles have kept her clear of Castle's family for these kinds of reasons, but after this ep she may be realising where she actually stands, no matter what she's be telling herself!
After The Moment in the bank, clearly Castle saw something in her eyes (I think we all did!!!!) --Nathan's acting here was sublime: in that 2sec gap he showed a kalidoscope of responses, it was breath-taking -- and then to turn down one-on-one time...
Though, probably, Martha and Alexis would've strangled him if he didn't spend some time with them, too, so it was a good way for him to reinforce to Beckett that he wants her to be part of his family rather than some 4-year infatuation.
The writers are putting everything into this show, I am wonderfully astounded by the displays of skill and nuance. I will be avidly watching for the next talented portrayal of magic!
castle outdid themselves once again. It was extraordinary and I felt like it should have been one of those 2 part story episodes like the show did the last two seasons. So fun! Next weeks looks just as good with ryans bachelor party.
Yes, the acting and the writing were very good indeed. And the writers amaze me, because they keep making this WTWT work even though it has already been said that they won't get together before the middle of next season.
I think you have a very good point regading the family life and Beckett's behaviour towards Castle's family. I have the impression that the writers are taking very little cautious steps to integrate Beckett more and it is nice.
I just don't really get why Beckett has so little contact with her father. Is it because it reminds her too much of her old life with her mother?
I also hope that all the progress being made during this season isn't just thrown out of the window when she finds out about Castle's secret (Montgomery's friend) and gets really hurt/upset/angry. But I must say that the writers have been pulling off some storylines in such a marvelous way that I believe this could also be a nice twist at the end of the season.
:) I was waiting for some worryBeckett since I watched the pilot and I'm SSSOOOO happy now...I just LOVE her worry face after the explosion and how happy she was when she found that Castle was safe...I know it's stupid but I LOVE how she went to the other cop and say ''My partner is in there!'', calling him his partner in front of a cop who don't know them :) Don't ask me why ^^; I just love it
of course it's awesome!!! can't resist to post the results by now of the poll... 'Awesome 94.63% (635 votes)' who voted awful?? seriously? 2 people hadn't seen the ep!!
I guess you guys already pointed out all the good scenes (what am I saying - AMAZING scenes), but I wanna add something. Of course I was (like, I assume, everybody) kinda pissed at Martha when she interrupted this great (I'm a bit at a loss of the appropriate adjective here) Castle Beckett moment and it got me thinking why on earth had she done that? I mean, she's not stupid, she knows about Castles feelings and nobody can tell me that she didn't get the magic of the situation. It got me wondering, if maybe she thought that if something happened at the - so to say - heat of the moment, Beckett will only regret this later and she wanted to save her son from the heart ache. It seemed like a logical explanation to me, is anyone with me?
Hey! I didn't know they had already said that they won't get together until next season. Bummer!! But, well, it's all worth it if they keep it this good :)
Just managed to catch up with this ep - definitely one of the top episodes of Castle. Loved all the interactions - Castle/Martha, Beckett/Alexis and that amazing Castle/Beckett moment in the vault (how could Martha interrupt that)? I've gotta say, Castle cases aren't always the strongest - I can usually pick out the killer early on but I didn't see the twist coming here. Stana Katic made the episode for me though - she didn't need to speak, her facial expressions said everything - worry, determination, shock - great performance.
This episode was awesome from start to finish. It reminded me of classic Castle from seasons past. It had fabulous one-lines. "Hey Castle Junior, could you start thinking like a cop?" "Perfect. The fake doctor calls in the other fake doctor for a consult." And of course, "He's no the only one here you know." Love how they fit everyone into the episode seamlessly when it could have been a very claustrophobic episode. Mostly though, I love the secondary characters on this show. Awesome job and kudos all around.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Wow. That was...huge!
ReplyDeleteIt went by way too fast. It was over before I knew it - whew.
ReplyDeleteBEST. EPISODE. EVER!!!!!!! :D

Castle also made a reference to Grey's Anatomy when he commented about the doctor names.
Great episode

ReplyDeleteThey made a close in his face but we couldn't see anything. So suspicious for me lol
