Emilie de Ravin, who played Australian castaway Claire on the ABC island mystery series, has been cast as Belle, as in Beauty and the Beast's Belle, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
Details of her role are scarce, but we hear Once's Belle will have a connection to Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle). No word on whether the titular Beast will appear, but Gaston is slated to pop up as well.

So excited!
ReplyDeleteI've missed that Australian hottie on tv.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best new shows of this fall season.
ReplyDeleteThat's great news:) I really like her a lot and think she'll be very beautiful Belle:)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm tempted to watch this now.
ReplyDeleteOmg. OMG. That's great news. Can't wait for more of them the appear.
ReplyDeleteWATCH IT. DO IT IMMEDIATELY.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is very good news.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I have to know who will be playing Gaston.
ReplyDeleteCool bit of casting...
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I can't wait
ReplyDeleteinteresting choice.. but I like her!
ReplyDeleteseriously.. deciding to watch this show was one of the best decisions I've made lately
ReplyDeleteSame here! I love it so much.
ReplyDeleteNice.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm loving that we are going to see Belle and Cinderella guest star, I hope TPTB remember that we still have characters already on the show that haven't really been used yet. (ie, Jminy Cricket, Little Red Riding Hood, etc.)
Still excited for Belle though. I've never seen Lost, is this actress any good?
Yes the best new ever for this show. I love Emilie De Ravin since Lost.
ReplyDeleteXD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat news ! Thanks !
ReplyDeleteNice casting!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many Lost-actors will guest star. It is only a shame that Ben, I mean Michael Emerson probably won't be able to guest star (CBS...).
I would love for him to be some evil friend of Rumpelstiltskin. Can you imagine the acting skills and the awesomeness of a scene in which Robert Carlyle and Michael Emerson play fairy tale villains? To say it would be superb is an understatement.
Wooo hoooo hanging in because I know it will just get better.
ReplyDeleteEmilie was also a significant character on Roswell, and I loved her acting then.
ReplyDeleteThat should be fun having her on.. .wonder what role she will be playing,... Another victim of Rumpelstiltskin's mischief?
ReplyDeleteI added another promo photo HQ Group shot of the cast to the SpoilerTV Photo Archive here:

It's very similar to the previous photo I added last week(?)...

I noticed something that intrigued me too. Each photo shows the cast in Storybrooke and then their Enchanted Forest alternates reflected ion the mirrors on the wall. Sheriff Graham does not have a reflection BUT there is a wolf looking in from outside the walls of the room.
To be fair Archie Hopper does not have Jiminy Cricket reflected either (or we just cannot see him since he is so small).
Some have already suggested that the Sheriff may somehow be the wolf or wondered who the wolf is and how it relates to Storybrooke and the Enchanted Forest. Not real proof it's the Sheriff, but being in both of the cast shots does seem to imply the wolf is somehow more important than just a random wandering wolf!
One of the things I'm loving about how they're working this is that it could be a really awesome showcase for guest stars: there are so many fairytales, so many myths that the writers can play around with for ages! To paraphrase the mayor we "don't really know how big this town is". Or a launching pad for new talent - if they keep the quality as high as its been then TPTB will have everyone begging to be on.
ReplyDeleteAlso he's the only non-mirror person to be lit from the left. It could just be poor editing, but he looks more like his character is directly from the Wood.
ReplyDeleteNice!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been hoping that Emilie de Ravin would latch onto another show as a regular since Lost ended but that never happened, so I'm certainly glad for this. If it works well, I hope it turns out to be recurring.
ReplyDeleteSo when can we expect Jasmine and Ariel to pop up? We are hitting all Disney's most celebrated. You think they will branch out and give us Pocahontas and Hercules too?
ReplyDeleteWow! You liked Tess? I thought it was sacrilege to feel anything but utter disgust for the one standing in the way of Max and the Lizbot's true love.
ReplyDeleteYou're diving into dangerous waters. With talk like that we'll end up with Robin Williams guest starring on the show. No one wants that. :P
ReplyDeleteRobert Carlyle and Michael Emerson would be a dream come true.
ReplyDeleteAs long as we're employing LOSTies ... canna girl get some Sawyer please?
Yes! I so agree. Actually, it's my favorite new TV of the fall season. It's even beating American Horror Story and Ringer for me right now, which I didn't think was possible.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm sure we'll see all of them eventually.
ReplyDeleteYes please! I would love Josh Holloway.
ReplyDeleteExcellent news.
ReplyDeleteLOL, I love Robin Williams! Wouldn't be opposed.
ReplyDeleteI'm rooting for a Flubber-centric episode!
ReplyDeleteAlso.... they always cast characters with beards to play mysterious werewolves ;) haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for this. I already love the show, now they bring in Emilie de Ravin :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched that movie in years. I really should.
ReplyDeleteI said I liked Emilie's acting, not the character Tess: you're right, that would've been sacrilege!! ;-D
ReplyDeleteI actually found my old videotape of it yesterday, now all I need to do is find a VCR that works... haha.
ReplyDeletehavent seen her seence roswell i know she did movies. Dose anybody know when she will be on this show. She is such a hottie cant wait to see what she plays.
