Nemesis - Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Adam Rayner join Melisssa George in BBC/ Cinemax co-production

Actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, best known for playing Mr Eko in ABC's drama Lost, has been cast as the new leading man in the upcoming BBC spy show Nemesis, according to its leading lady Melissa George who plays Samantha.

Melissa George tweeted; "@TheMGeorge: New leading man on Nemesis!!! @TheOneTripleA" (which is Adewale's twitter name).

In response Adewale replied; "@TheMGeorge Its gunna be a ball!! (sic)

When asked by a fan what he was working on he replied; "Nemesis the new Cinemax/BBC action spy thriller".

44-year-old British actor Adewale has also appeared in many films, including The Mummy Returns and The Bourne Identity. He also appeared in the 1990's HBO prison series Oz.

Adam Rayner is also part of the main cast, best known for his role in TNT's Hawthorne as Dr. Steve Shaw and BBC's Mistresses.

Rayner will play Adian one of Samantha's fellow team members in an elite private intelligence firm according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The spy thriller, written by X-Files executive producer Frank Spotnitz, is currently in production which has seen filming in Scotland and London so far. It's been produced by Kudos (Spooks, Ashes to Ashes) in association with Cinemax.

  6. This could be a decent show.  I'll be interested to see how it turns out.  Seems like it's off to a much better start than Transporter.
