Tell us a little bit about this new HBO series, "Luck" that premieres in January? It's centered on the world of horse racing?
It's dealing with what's happening in horse racing today. With off track betting and computer betting horse tracks are in trouble. Michael Mann ("Public Enemies," "Miami Vice" and David Milch ("Deadwood," "NYPD Blue") created the show. And of course I have a history with Michael Mann. They called and sent me the script and I was in.
It's a very talented ensemble you're working with. Dustin Hoffman, Nick Nolte, John Ortiz. What was the chemistry like the first day at work?
On a personal level everyone got along great. We just clicked.
Have you ever gone to the track?
I've been to the track a lot. I like Santa Anita. In Chicago we have Hawthorne and Arlington there's three or four tracks around here.

Awesome, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't really that interested in this series but the more ads I see and the more I read about it, the more excited I am!
ReplyDeleteThe 2011/ 2012 TV season needs another hit. The only legit hit so far has been Homeland
I will probably check this out but i am not into horse racing...
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion you don't necessarily have to be into the theme of a TV show. I'm not into cooking meth and love Breaking Bad, I don't care about prisons & their inmates and was a huge fan of Oz or I'm not really a fashion guy and enjoy How to Make It in America.
ReplyDeleteAs long as they tell a good story and have interesting characters I can enjoy pretty much every show. And that's what I hope for in Luck. Don't care about horse racing or gambling, but it looks like an interesting setting and the talent behind the show is amazing.
Yup,that is why i said i would be checking it out...I would watch just because of Hoffman, and Farina...I haven't seen Breaking Bad (yet),nor How to Make It In America,so i wouldn't know but i did love Oz....btw nice to know your not cooking meth. :)
ReplyDeleteWhile I don't think How to Make It is must-see TV at all (it's just a little show I watch, 8 episodes for 1 season, so not a big deal), I can only recommend Breaking Bad, it's brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThis past summer i finally watched Prison Break,i don't remember what i was watching when this show was on,and i tired watching once but couldn't follow..I will do the same with Breaking Bad, can't do it now, there are too many shows on now. :)
