Not only did NBC pick up the back 9 for Grimm, now it appears that they will be having a special Thursday night showing on December 8 in the slot formerly occupied by Prime Suspect.
Grimm has been beating Fox’s Fringe on Friday nights and has often rivaled CBS’ CSI: NY in the 9 p.m. slot, too. The show has also improved its time period by 50 percent for the network (the show is averaging 6.9 million viewers and a 2.3 adult demo rating when DVR is added). In fact, NBC is going to give Grimm a shot on Thursday nights — airing an episode in the Prime Suspect slot at 10 p.m. Dec. 8. At the very least, the move might get Grimm some additional sampling.

This could be a blessing or a curse, but either way it's big news for Grimm and really fans of genre in general. If Grimm could gain viewers and hold down a Thursday night spot it could be a pretty big deal....
ReplyDeleteNot sure it will move to Thursdays or it could handle the timeslot if it did in fact move there, but the idea intrigues me!
i think its a good thing even if it doesnt move permenantly the one ep should get it more sampling
ReplyDeleteWhy not try it there. Friday seems to have a lot of genre shows in the same timeslot and moving Grimm might be a good move?
ReplyDeleteGood for Grimm.
ReplyDeleteI was just checking to see if there was any room for a simulcast in Canada. It's has to usurp either Criminal Minds or The Mentalist. I hope it will be the latter as it's already in syndication.
ReplyDeleteYa know if Fringe had stayed on Thursday night,we wouln't have this problem.
ReplyDeleteThat`s great! I´m really happy for the show. I´m already desperately hoping for another season ;)
ReplyDeleteIt was stupid to put it up against two other genre shows and premiere it on graveyard night to begin with. I don't care for Grimm myself, but I think it would be better for Grimm and genre fans if it moved to Thursdays permanently. I think it can only do better on a better night, and then genre fans wouldn't have to play marry, kiss, kill (or in this case, watch, DVR, skip) with all the genre shows on at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI think it was smart, I am often wanting to watch something less serious after VD and TSC (I usually watch The Mentalist or my dvr recording of Criminal Minds)
ReplyDeleteso funny, so true
