Gossip Girl - Season 5 - The Fate of Blair's Baby (Spoiler)

Thanks to chestal for the heads up.

As Gossip Girl keeps the over-the-top Blair Waldorf plotlines coming (Blair’s getting married! And having a baby!), Vulture has been wondering which of these story lines the show will actually see through. Like, could Blair really become a mother? We didn't actually expect to get an answer to that question when we showed up to last weekend's fête for the series' 100th episode (which airs in January), but get one we did, when Margaret Colin (a.k.a. Eleanor Waldorf) let slip that she “had to show up to work to find out that, you know, that she lost the baby.” As if that weren't confirmation enough, executive producer Joshua Safran gave a coy answer when pressed about Blair’s impending motherhood, saying that she’ll “maybe have a baby.” Guess we won’t be seeing a Chuck Bass Jr. or a Prince Louis running around anytime soon.

  1. Was a given she wasn't going to have the baby, show wouldn't work if either her/Serena had a child

  4. Oh what a surprise!! I did not see that coming... [insert sarcasm].  This was a completely pointless storyline in the first place.

  5. I figured.. it was only a matter of time

  6. Awesome. I hate babies, both in real life but especially on TV shows.

You have to explain where they are, who is taking care of them, keep them involved or bring up annoying questions... it just restricts the characters.

  7. like something shoking or exciting or emotional. if it's just something like "blair lost the baby!" and then next episode no one remembers it... it will be pretty ridiculous.

  8. ok so are we ever going to find out who the bab's father is.

  9. shocker!!!!!!! *sarcasm* but that's just cruel :|

  10. your parents must've hated you.

  11. I was an accident and raised to avoid an accident of my own.

    Babies are TV show cancer.

  12.  I do not like Blair but it's cruel to have killed her baby

  13.  It makes no sense that Blair has gotten pregnant.

  14. It was necessary to kill the baby from Blair?

  15. OMG I am SOOO relieved !  A miscarriage is a sad event, but a baby just doesn't have its place on this show.. at all !! Although I would be really happy for Meredith in Greys to get pregnant or that I am happy about Lily's pregnancy in HIMYM or about Brennan's in Bones, I don't want any baby interfering with GG!

  16. I knew it!! .. This whole Baby storyline was just to create more drama for Chair .. and now Blair loses the baby to create even more drama ..thats all the stupid writers want .. but chair to more and more drama and pain

  17. i guess that why they make a timejump .. so everyone can be happy again in the next episode

  18. ed and leighton could still make this scene "good" .. with their acting skills they could make it very emotional .. but i´m afraid the writers will use the timejump here ....
    - blair loses the baby
    - timejump
    - everything is normal again

  19. that'll suck!! I hope that's not what happens...but I can't really  trust in ggwriters... :/

  22. I'm guessing the show's "biggest ever cliffhanger" when the show goes on hiatus in December will be the fate of the baby. Maybe Blair collapsing in pain - they could then do a mini time jump for when the show resumes in Jan.

    Theories theories.

  23. Louis is the father.. according to the paternity test

  24. Didn't we all see this coming a mile away, so pointless and what I waste of time, so is the whole Louis/marriage thing, I just don't get it, do they just not want another season or what?

  25. And she will be back with Chuck, he will do something stupid, she will be with someone else, he will be good for her again and five season with the same story... they should do something more dramatic... like kill chuck and blair falling in love with dan ... A lot of people will hate this but everybody will watch it.

  26. i think a lot of people (especially chair shippers) including me would stop watching the show if they would kill chuck

  27. Except Blair will probably not be happy the next episode seeing as in the pics she's drunk and getting arrested. I mean why would she be happy? she lost her child and is still marrying prince douche bag, poor girl ):

  28. She's having a car accident with Chuck at 10th episode. That's how she'll lose her baby..

  29. I'm not a ''chair'' shipper but if they kill chuck i will stop watching the show... He's the only reason i watch it :)

  30. I was so worried about this on Monday, but now Chuck's the one in danger. They can't BOTH die?!?!
