“GOSSIP GIRL” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET)
“All The Pretty Sources” (TV-14) (HDTV)
SERENA PLANS A DREAM BRIDAL SHOWER FOR BLAIR — Serena (Blake Lively) is hard at work planning a dream bridal shower for Blair (Leighton Meester), but it should come as no surprise that Serena has to plant some false information about the shower in order to keep Blair from finding out all the details. Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Dan (Penn Badgley) decide to spend the day together to distract themselves from the fact that they didn’t make the invite list for Blair’s shower. Nate (Chace Crawford) and Serena find a silver bullet in Diana’s (guest star Elizabeth Hurley) war against Gossip Girl, but struggle about whether to use it or not. Kaylee DeFer, Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle also star. Cherie Nowlan directed the episode written by Austin Winsberg (#508).

Dan and Chuck hanging out as buddies - is so wrong. They used to loathe each other not even 5 episodes ago. Am I the only one remembering that Dan had some problems with Chuck after he tried to rape, then humiliated and in the end slept with Jenny and then tossed her? (And this is coming from a Chair fan. I'm just pointing out how ridiculous this new bro-ship is!)
ReplyDeleteAs for Nate and Serena finding a way to stop GossipGirl from posting Gossip. Uhm, been there, done that. And look how it ended up in 2.25!
This, basically. Thank you for voicing every worry I have about these storylines.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty much like the Dair's relationship. did Dan forget that Blair also humiliated his sister to the point she didn't want to be in NY again? Really? But tbh the CD scenes is the only thing I am looking for in the episode. The sad moment you realize that you are more excited about Chuck/Dan scenes than with Blair awful and boring wedding SL with the boring and uncharming prince.
ReplyDeleteI guess the Dan/Chuck situation just reinforces the idea that Dan isn't the same guy he was when the show started. Dating Serena and eventually living on the UES made him as capable of deception as everyone else, and as a result he almost learned to forgive and forget like everyone else - just a typical day for the "rich and elite"
ReplyDeleteDan/Chuck Bromance is the fresh breath of air this show has needed for a while. After 4 years of the same old same old, this friendship is much needed.
ReplyDeleteyeah, it has brought an interesting new dynamic to the show.. I like it
ReplyDeleteIn one sense, I completely agree. Dan is forgetting a lot there. On the other hand, he grew to tolerate Chuck over the years for Serena and Nate's sake, and then Chuck was in trouble ... and Dan just can't resist a damsel in distress. Even when its not a damsel, and even when he hasn't had the best relationship with the damsel in the past. Think about how all his friendships started. Serena - trying to get out of a thing with her mom, he lied to help her. Plus she just generally needed saving, that's just Serena. Nate - needed a place to stay when his dad was in jail and his mom took off. Blair - well, Serena was the damsel in distress that bonded them, really, but they became re-friended, so to speak, when Blair was pregnant and needed somebody to help. So how does he become friends with Chuck? The guy needs help feeling again, not to mention not getting himself killed. Plus, Dan seems to want to like people. He tried to make friends with both Chuck and Blair in season two, and then tried to help Blair out again in season three. I guess I kinda buy their friendship and I kinda don't. One thing I do know - I don't care if it makes sense or not, the Duck friendship is fun. And not a lot is fun on Gossip Girl anymore.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Dan has some "Clark Kent" in him, in the sense that he won't turn his back on someone in need whether it be friend or foe. In regards to Blair, Dan came to her rescue in Season 1 as well when Blair was in tears over the whole modeling thing, Dan opened up to her and helped her move past it.To say he's the moral compass of the show would be an understatement.
ReplyDeleteI liked the 'Clark Kent' thing! totally agreed! :)
ReplyDeleteexcited! and...was Blair the one not inviting Chuck and Dan or it was Serena's idea? kinda excited about knowing that... :P
ReplyDeleteDan and Chuck together is always entertaining. I couldn't care less about the shower but this subplot should more than make up for it.
ReplyDeleteDan not making the list for B's bridal shower ...as significant as Chuck not making it? who knew I would see this day? :D sweet DB sweet!
ReplyDeleteit doesn't sound like they are trying to stop gossip girl, to me it sounds like that they are deciding whether to stop diana
