Glee is temporarily lifting its moratorium on stunt casting, and with good reason.

The Fox phenom is in negotiations with Ricky Martin to guest star early next year, sources confirm to TVLine exclusively.

The bon-bon shaker extraordinaire will play what a Glee insider is calling “the hottest Spanish teacher ever in the history of Ohio.”

  1. I watch Glee occasionally these days, but I might wanna see that. Haven't seen or heard of Ricky Martin for a while now.

  2. Rolling my eyes right now.  Though I sort of just watch out of habit. I don't particularly enjoy the show overall.

  4. I wish Glee would stop giving me rock-solid reasons not to watch.

  5. That was sort of my point. I'm having trouble stopping even though I want to. I'm not trolling or anything, I swear. :P

  8. I think has the potential to be good.. though they don't seem to be worried about breaking their "no celebrity guest stars" claim

  9. Quite disappointing. I don't know a lot about Ricky Martin, but Glee should've found another Latino performer, preferably someone from Broadway for this part. I was hoping their announcement of no stunt-casting will last.. Guess not..

although, i don't see the problem? if you like glee, chances are the idea of a Ricky Martin cameo at least amuses/intrigues you. If you don't like glee, then i'm not sure why you're on this article? I imagine the people who like one but not the other, or at least professional musicians appearing on a musical show, is quite small. But maybe i'm wrong?

  11. Yes, I watch Glee.  I rarely comment on shows I don't follow.  I also contest the notion that Ricky Martin is categorized as a "professional musician."  "Former pop star" is much more accurate.  Either way, no thank you.

  12. former pop-star is still a musician. Maybe not one held in high regard by yourself, or critics either, but is still a man who's made his living most of his adult life via entertaining people with music.
However, of course you're entitled to just not like the man - you can't please all of the people all of the time. I think he'll be a good fit though, so hopefully you'll be surprised. Of course though he could be the worst thing in the history of the show. Only time will tell
