Let's hope FOX doesn't invent some sport to air and preempt Fringe again! Grrrr. I loved the new shapeshifters... glad to know they will be a larger part of the season than just the next episode from the sound of things!
So if V1.0 shapeshifters dreamt of electric sheep, what do v2.0 shifters dream of? Lamb chops cooked on a George Foreman Grill?
It makes sense since he's one of the few people on any Earth to rival Walter or Bell's intelligence.... and he seems to have a connection to Fringe events that needs to be further explored! Thankfully!
I'm so glad they are introducing new (i think new) shapeshifters into the show. But for now i just want to see tonights ep. with peter and the gang.!!!!
I'm good with people playing it close to the vest as long as that doesn't mean making it up as they go. My trust in adding question without giving any answers was broken by the X-Files. Good thing Fringe has always seemed well-thought out or I'd be leery of this. Either way, I more interested in the Observers, Peter navigating this new timeline, and Walter and Peter's relationship than the shapeshifters, 2.0 or otherwise.
Wyman - "The new shapeshifters, which are human, are much scarier than the ones that are machines because literally they are not detectable. They morph DNA, they have body heat, they don't bleed mercury. It's definitely the shapeshifter 2.0. Everything is not as it seems and I think that um you know 2.0 is a great way to say it because that just has connotations of new and better."
Pinkner - "You know I've said this before. My mother, every book she reads, she reads the last page first and it ruins the entire reading experience. You know, we don't keep our mysteries close to the vest just because we like to be cruel. We keep them close to the vest because hopefully, like you know, the tension in the story is what's driving it."
Wyman - "There's a reason why they're here. There's a reason why they've been invented. We're going to definitely get into that this season and hopefully you know, you'll love it as much as we do."
That comparison to X-Files is something I've had to keep in check: but to me they mostly broke that mould with the end of S2/start of S3 - we got a lot of real answers then, which just led to more questions, but in a logical way. X-Files by S4&5 was pretty much making up new stuff which got shoved in.
Now if these spaheshifters are really this different Peter's intel won't be that useful. And I guess it won't help with the trust issues with Olivia and the rest of the team.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
hmmm... interesting
ReplyDeleteI say Jones is behind the shifters this time.
ReplyDeleteThe title of this video reminded me of BSG, I got all nostalgic. Loving the new shapeshifters
ReplyDeleteWould someone write a little summary? I can't listen to the vid right now...

ReplyDeleteHere's the transcript:
ReplyDeleteBroyles - "What do you know about shapeshifters?"
Peter - "Quite a lot actually."
Broyles - "Enlighten me."

Good theory. I would like to see him again. He thoroughly creeped me out and is obviously tied into Fringe more deeply than most.
