  1. I think the most important thing Mr. Jackson said, it was like they put Peter in a prison cell---I think this is exactly what this is. I still think he ends up where he doesn't initially belong, but being here might also save his life and the time line he might want to get back to. This experience kind of parallels him to Walter. He know might know what Walter feels--how disconnected he became from everything he knew before.

To continue to support this idea that Peter is just in another timeline, I go back to LSD...When Peter went looking for Olivia and realized the adult version wasn't her, I don't think it was just backshadowing Red Olivia, but also forshaddowing the new blue Olivia...In fact I think more things from LSD might play out in this time line, which is spooky, unless this is a previous interation, in which then some of the information is already stored and preserved and that is why it was in Olivia's "mind" to begin with.

It also sounds like Nina plans to put Olivia in harms way---it will be interesting to see why that is, but I can only guess that perhaps these new shape shifters are MD's....

  2. what he says about olivia and nina has me really excited. i like nina as the kind of character you never know in which side she stands, rather than as good guardan (like she seemed to be in the last episode). i loved her in season 1. the issue with john scott, her asking peter for future favours and her relationship with broyles made her a really intriguing character.  then she just turned "good", pretty much, and she lost a bit of interest (she still rocks and i would love to see much more of her, don't get me wrong!).

i feel the same about peter, actually. i feel like the character that was introduced to us in the pilot had a huge potential to be a truly great character with two sides to himself. maybe we get to see a bit more of that peter this season. given that he's not going to have the other's support for a while maybe he could take matters in his on hands (reciprocity style).

  3. I really love the way Peter is written in the sense that he is an important person, who doesn't start out knowing it all...and he has to rise to the occasion, and doing that forces him to know himself better and the audience gets to experience that with him.

  4. yes, i agree with you. i just think that it would make for a more interesting character if he swerved from principles a bit more often! :D

  5. Agreed! :D it would play back well to the Peter we never met prior to the Fringe Division, that we only get a taste of in Tales of the Fringe issue one, and episodes "the Cure" and "Fracture"...So glad it's FRINGE Friday!

  6. In an odd way I liked "that" Peter we never knew better!

Ok, I love and enjoy the red2blue universe Peter we have grown to know, but the more time he was with Fringe, the less of his roguish appeal was remaining. At least the  man of danger dealing in black markets and hiding from people etc.

I would love to see him doing some clandestine activities before his Fringe involvement!

  7. I don't agree with Jackson about Bolivia.  She's not the same.  The child she had with Peter really softened her up and made her a more open person.  Now, without the child not existing, she's back to being the cold, gung-ho, hardass that she was when the character was first introduced.

  8. Have you ever read any of "Tales of Fringe" comic series, the first one is Peter's back story it alludes to how he made bad decisions, he had an oppertunity to save a man from a suicide bombing, but he also was trying to get an oil pipeline deal...He thought he could do both, but the pipeline deal takes way too long...after they finally except his offer, he sees the car bomb go off in the distance...he just covers his face.

  9. I think he is refering to all of them as we met them in comparison, and not as they evolve. I agree that red Olivia was softening and that really all characters have changed except Walternate and December....IMO the red universe (Walter and Olivia) are the people that have to change in order to save the universes. The red have been more constant, then the blue as the red never deal with memory sharing or memory loss, suggesting that universe is less fluid then the blue, making the blue maluable, and the ones that have to endues change....

However, I think even the new red Olivia also began to soften (only a little) when she learned that the new blue Olivia killed her step father and found out she was an abused child.
