Hyper-vigilance? Ooooh, that's exhausting - which will only make the other symptoms worse. And the doc is right: sometimes she does act like she's the only cop on the beat (yes, I know its for the show, but still....)
Yes, poor Kate indeed. The chest touching on the first sneak peek was very emotionally charged. But I am still hoping for an even more intense sneak peek :)
I also liked that Lanie and Esposito are apparently kind of uniting in order to deal with Beckett's situation.
Yeah, the "only cop" thing is pretty annoying sometimes. I know she is super good and that she knows she is super good, but it can be a bit arrogant sometimes.
I love Kate, but I'm kinda hoping that maybe this is something the writers are aware of, and that's part of why the new Capt. is the way she is - think of the line last week: "I want to see what you can do (without him)." I also think that side of her personality is a big road-block for her moving forward in any real sense, 'shipping or other. But, of course, we love our complicated heros!
I don't know how far they are going to take this, but sometimes the chest touching is just touching.I had open heart surgery, and there are many reasons why i touch my chest..Sure the first few months its usually due to pain, its the healing process, but after that it usually due to itching, which could drive you up a wall, most times though it just becomes a reflex, you do it and are not even aware that your doing it.
Wow, first of all, I hope you've recovered 100% from your surgery!
Regarding Beckett: I think it was kind of a reflex of seing the bullet hole on a woman who seemed the same age as her on the same spot as her shot probably was...too close to home.
Oh,thanks it happened in 2005, docs did a pretty good job putting me back together again, except for the damn itching, lol. You know after i wrote you i check the footage again, and i think your right,it was because of the women with the bullet hole coupled with them trying to not use the word sniper, sure i can see how all of these factors come into play.:)
Looks good! I do hope they go a little further than this, I hope they do this really good and make it very intense and dark, because I think she needs an outlet for once.
The 'only cop' thing I kinda get. It's her job, she feels responsible for her cases, you don't just 'step out'. And of course, she doesn't want anything to hold her up, especially not emotionally.
I'm guessing this will be one of those darker episodes they were talking about in the interviews. Too bad. I could really use a funny one, but I guess that's what DVDs are for. It is good that they are revisiting what a trauma the shooting had to be for Beckett. With the time jump, it was barely glanced over. This gives us a chance to find closure on that story line with the characters.
wow. thanks for the 3 in 1 packaging. You can tell this ep is gonna have an impact, as you could just feel the swirl of emotions from Kate from the reaction to the chest shot, to Lanie/esposito walking on eggshells around her..... Sooo good.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Thanks for posting them and editing them in one video!
ReplyDeleteNo problem :)
