    I've read the writers are trying to set up Sheldon/Penny, but come on. That would be just too contrived and cutesy. Hopefully this is just a side thing to Sheldon being bitter about Amy dating somebody else....although even that--Sheldon caring about Amy going out--is kinda pushing the character in a direction it'd be unnatural for him to go.

    Sheldon/Penny are my secret OTP for the show (seriously no other woman can handle him like Penny does), so even though I do enjoy the whole Amy/Sheldon thing, I would Love for Penny/Sheldon to happen... however I don't think they will... so I'll just take the humor that will come from Sheldon being jealous over Amy and acting out by trying to make her lealous by "dating" Penny

    Writers are not trying to set up S/P, If you look at the previous episodes they are building up the Shamy. That's just probably Sheldon trying to make Amy jealous. This's going to be hilarious though.

    ahhh I've been waiting for this forever.. it doesn't matter that they'd never work in any stretch of the imagination.. I think they're adorable  :)  and what better way to make Amy jealous than going on a date with her "bestie"?
