It will air on CBS in the US (starting in February/March), it's their show, they picked it up last May.
It's good to finally have footage of the show, I'm glad because unlike many procedural copshows broadcasted on CBS, this one interests me. First because it's created by Richard Price, who wrote The Color of Money (he got an Oscar nom for that), he also worked on the best show ever (nope, it's not Supernatural), The Wire. Also, Bob de Niro is producing the show. Plus, James Mangold (Identity, Walk the Line and the upcoming Wolverine) is directing the pilot. That's quite a partnership behing the screen.
It looks like it's more Southland than Rookie Blue, which is a good thing (I hope it won't turn into a Grey's Anatomy with young cops). I hope CBS will really give it a shot, unlike Chaos last season. Thank you for posting, Adam !
The 2-2 answers the question, "what do you get when you mix The Unusuals, Rookie Blue, and Southland?" Actually, there are TWO acceptable answers to that question. The other answer is "canceled."
Thanks for the info, there were a few of us who didn't know if it was going to play in the states. It does remind me of Southland, but this is grittier,i believe they filmed it in the South Bronx, could be Brooklyn,N.Y.,but more likely S.Bronx,N.Y.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I forgot that Robert DeNiro was producing this show. will it play in the US?
ReplyDeleteExactly that is what I was wondering.
ReplyDeleteI goggled it,but not much info and it doesn't say where or when it will be shown.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Southland: NY to me. Not that that is a bad thing. I like Southland.
ReplyDeletethis does look like Southland + Rookie Blue + NYC... could be good if it can differentiate itself...
