In a bit of terrible news for Fringe fans (and TX Rangers fans I guess), the St. Louis Cardinals won Game 6 to force a game 7 that will air on FOX tomorrow night...
According to TVGuide last night:
"However, should the Cardinals win Thursday and force a Game 7, the tie-breaking match-up would air Friday night, delaying the airing of Fringe and Kitchen Nightmares by a week.
Baseball rain delay pushes X Factor to Thursday, Thursday's episode to air Sunday
The possibility of a Game 7 could also spell serious trouble for NBC, which is launching the final season of Chuck and the new series Grimm this Friday.
A similar problem occurred two weeks ago when the American League Championship Series was delayed several hours due to rain, which subsequently forced Fox to air The X Factor the following Sunday."

**UPDATE**
FOX has updated their site to say the new episode will air November 4 now. It looks like it's official.

I'm so angry right now... Well more pissed off than anything we waited an entire week for this episode! i was so psyched! Please do let us know if there's any chance of Fringe being on tomorrow!!!
ReplyDeleteTerrible news....UGH!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any FRINGE official word yet but feel free to link in a post here and I will update the post.
Damn Baseball, this is why I hate sports. It takes up all the good shows.
ReplyDeleteStupid baseball, has to be now that peter is back? I'ts hard ot be a Fringie
ReplyDelete*to
ReplyDeleteWhen and how long actually this game will air? It's on Grimm slot?
ReplyDeleteI agree Dr. House. I agree.
ReplyDeleteI don't totally understand what you're asking. Grimm is on NBC which won't be affected by the game. And judging by tonight's game it won't be a short one.
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH!
ReplyDeleteI am devastated! :(
Another week to wait for Fringe?! I might die!
Talk about a stab to the heart! D:
I guess it's a congratulations for the Cardinals?
I just realized this whole thing is one giant consipiracy! NBC rigged the game so that all the Fringe viewers would be able to watch Grimm... Clever NBC very clever.
ReplyDeleteWe've got a week here. From past experience, viewers will feel betrayed and angry. We got to use this time to calm them before friday and promote next friday. I fear for the ratings. Damn baseball.
ReplyDeleteI´m so.............angry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy for FRINGE today!!!!!!!!!!Another week to wait!!!!:((( NOnono!!!!!! And on saturday maybe we could have Fringe on Saturday instead!? We have to wait 3 looooooooong week for a new Fringe episode with Peters return!!!!!!!! If so we need 2 episodes more before winterbreak!!!!:)
ReplyDeleteI agree! Either Air the episode Friday or we get two episodes next week!
ReplyDeleteYeeees! This is a very gooood idea! fringe fans are angry and want 2 episodes next week!!!!:)
ReplyDeleteLOL, of course there will be two episodes next Friday /sarcasm
ReplyDeleteBy the way, may I borrow that picture for my facebook photo? It sums up every Fringe fan's annoyance so well. I'm thinking of using it until the next new episode airs.
ReplyDeleteYes. I just made it to express the fandom's mood. Anyone can use it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how Dahne feels... living in Cardinals territory and being a Fringe fan. XD
ReplyDeleteDamn.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I`d like to see a new Fringe episode I look at it as a good thing - Grimm and Chuck won`t take Fringe viewers it badly needs and they will have worse ratings because of baseball. And when Grimm stars badly with the pilot, it`s a good chance it won`t get many viewres later.
ReplyDeleteIt`s just a theory but it kinda makes me feel better about tommorow :-D
That`s a great idea, man :-D. Haven`t thought of that :-D
ReplyDeleteM I tweaked the photo a bit and added the Observer if you want the new version. XD
ReplyDeletePeter you are so right!!!!! We are all with you and we are NOT amused too!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust re-checked FOX's site and they changed the new episode date to November 4... It's official.
ReplyDeleteFrelling baseball! I need my Fringe fix.
ReplyDeleteLove the poster, but hating that I have to wait for my Fringe fix.... boo def a not treat for Hallloween
ReplyDelete-Whimpers- Not cool man, not cool. Sigh. Another week.
ReplyDeleteI am really curious to see how Grimm will be received tonight.
ReplyDeleteIt won't have the competition from Fringe so I guess that will help it's pilot ratings.
I just hope that it finds it's own slice of audience and doesn't take away any of the hard-earned Supernatural viewers, as we need all we can get!
Oh come on now!SERIOUSLY?
ReplyDeleteis there a place where we ca complain or better DEMAND that we at least get two episodes next week?this is ********
well, there's a silverlining.
ReplyDeleteHow does the weather forecast look like? Any chance that a thunderstorm or monsoon-rain will make it possible??
ReplyDeleteHigh of 60 and mostly sunny. :(
ReplyDeleteNO! This is bull!
ReplyDeleteYou can be pro fringe without being a douche about Grimm and Chuck. Looking at this as a chance for them to lose viewers? Really?
ReplyDeleteGrimm will air in its entirety on NBC, Fringe will not be aired on FOX since Game 7 will be on FOX.
ReplyDeleteI think the article just meant that Grimm may lose viewers to the World Series and it may have had better rating if it was not up against baseball.
No Fringe won't help it's ratings.... Baseball would easily get more viewers, it's the final game of the World Series....
ReplyDeleteIf anything, Grimm is likely to get screwed over by the Baseball
Maybe if I followed baseball I wouldn't mind so much, but I don't. However, do I expect Fox not to show the game? Of course not, I just wished that I wasn't having to wait another week for a new episode of Fringe.
ReplyDeleteGrimm is kinda screwed no matter what is on. XD
ReplyDeleteSupernatural and Fringe or Supernatural and the World Series final game.... it's pretty much a lose-lose scenario.
The only positive I see is that some regular Fringe viewers check out Grimm since Fringe will be preempted. May6be they will like it enough to DVR or Tivo later......
Damn it, you baseball, i just want to speak out all dirty words, we wait and wait in patiently more than one week until now, not again you stupid baseball !!!!!!!...............ahhhhhhhhh
ReplyDelete:( I was so angry yesterday but I guess now I´m sort of realised there´s nothing I can do. But it makes me really sad, I was really looking forward to this episode.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't Americans act like the rest of the world and air sports on weekends?
ReplyDeleteSo annoyed right now, as I'm Irish I really don't understand how sport event can interput scheduling so much.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping that the baseball does not effect Supernatural rating, problerly will but I can always hope!
As for Grimm, lauching a new genre show on Friday night in already busy slot against established show such a supernatural and Fringe, really does seem that NBC does not care about Grimm and want to air what has and cancal it.
that's such good news!:(
ReplyDeleteI hate Baseball
ReplyDeletereally? first of all that is kind of rude and offensive. second of all it is the world series. a game of 7. it would make no sense to drag out over weekends. that would take forever.
ReplyDeleteSince I'm Rangers fan I'm really upset and since Fringe is bein preempted as well, i'm even more upset :/
ReplyDeleteWell, baseball isn't a big thing over here, but if it was the last game of a big soccer tournament I can well imagine that the majority of households would tune in, myself included!
ReplyDeleteI must say that Grimm doesn't really fire my enthusiasm starting with it's rather foreboding title, but maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised, that is unless some tv critic has already seen the pilot and has given it the thumbs down......
I'm sorry for the Fringe fans who were looking forward to seeing a new episode but I rather selfishly hope that the Nielsen box holders might give Supernatural a little boost tonight in the name of condivided, fraternal sci-fi / horror :-)
Ha! I am praying for rain to delay the game until Saturday. I'm happy the Cards still have a chance to win the series, but man is it hard to wait another 7 days for Peter's interrogation scenes. This is my most anticipated Fringe episode of all.
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, NBC is more upset about this than you are. To debut against the first game 7 of the World Series in almost a decade is terribly bad luck for it. This game will be the most watched of all the games this year and will pull largely from the same viewers the Grimm will be looking to get. This is not good news for Grimm especially because it does not have diehard viewers, but it is also not great for Chuck or Supernatural ratings-wise either.
ReplyDeleteIt won't just be Grimm getting screwed by the baseball game. I expect Supernatural's ratings to dip to all-time low numbers also. Good thing that the CW will take the World Series into consideration when viewing the number.
ReplyDeleteThe forecast says beautiful fall weather, however, this is St. Louis. We are known for quick weather changes. The motto is if you don't like the weather, stick around 10 minutes and it will change. There's always a possibility that a thunderstorm will roll in. Keep hope alive.
ReplyDeleteThe World Series final game is the worst thing that can happen to Grimm's pilot. It takes directly from the viewers that Grimm was trying to hit, 18-49 mostly male. Unfortunately, that's a big chunk of both Supernatural and Chuck fans too. Everyone's ratings will suffer this week because of it. I would expect NBC to re-air Grimm's pilot unless they are truly writing it off. It's Chuck's last season so the ratings don't matter as quite as much, and the CW will take Supernatural's ratings with a grain of salt. They will expect it to be in record lows tonight.
ReplyDeleteAs for sports, does Ireland never interrupt the schedule for soccer games like the World Cup? If so, that's amazing and you are so very lucky.
"O ye of little faith!" :-)
ReplyDeleteOnly joking!
Tonight's episode is the one with the clones, I believe, so that might spur at least the dedicated fans to watch, although it's clear that it's far more logical to watch the game live and record Supernatural.
However I'm holding out, maybe unrealistically, for it to keep at least its 0.7rating.
You've failed us, Texas Rangers. I hope you lose tonight too!
ReplyDeleteAlright, I checked my DVR, and it says that there WILL be a new episode of Fringe tonight on CityTV in Canada.
ReplyDeleteAnd the CityTV website is ALSO saying that Novation will run tonight. http://www.citytv.com/toronto/show/micro/80864--fringe
ReplyDeleteIn fairness to the boardcasters it unusally to find interruption to schudule due to sport event. Alot a planning go into this, most of our sport the event don't last longer than 90 minutes and with commentry they last 2.5-3 hours. The other thing that effect what happen is which team are playing, for example if two top european soccer team are due to play a match, a show would be moved to next week, and would making use of the fact that most show such as Fringe have around 22 episodes shown over 28-32 weeks, whereas if it a uneven matchup, than the show is dump an hour to 10pm. This is all done advance to the scheduling coming out. Also certain sport event are shown are decicated sport channel such a Sky Sport.
ReplyDeleteThe Soccor (football) world/Euro cup is played during the summer month when the the Premier league in England, is finished for the season and the it most talent player can completed. It only when you get to the knokout stages that they could be shows are bumped but broadcast usually rearrange show know this to time they are safy.
*This makes me kind-a... *Points @ Piccie*....
ReplyDelete&
Next Friday I haz my operation ...F*CK!
Absence makes the heart grow fonder!
ReplyDeleteStay positive, Fringies!
Who knows, maybe it's a good thing.
Just make sure you check FOX after the game, just in case.
And watch live next week if you can!
Fringe Rocks! and the fans are awesome.
So irate!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat, don't you like soccer? LOL :)
ReplyDeleteAgreed!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat would be great, but Fox wouldn't go for it. :)
ReplyDeletei see your point. however, here, it is very rare to be moved because of a sporting event as well. football is almost always played on the weekend except for some monday night games, however, those are already slotted times so do not effect television shows. Basketball is rarely played on network television, and the only time it effects television shows is also when they are having their big end of season competition. super bowl is always on a sunday night, so rarely effects television. otherwise, here in the states regularly scheduled programs are usually not effected. unfortunately world series is one of those that do, and you can never really tell how long it will last. it can be as short as 4 games or as long as 7, which unfortunately is the case here. hope that kind of helps. i have found that the networks here plan for when these sporting events are going to occur and plan their hiatuses accordingly, because, unfortunately, they have several hiatuses through the season.
ReplyDeleteHardly, a longer break won't do any good to Fringe.
ReplyDeleteI was pretty bummed out when i heard this yesterday,I was hoping for a thunderstorm,or maybe a snowstorm (where i live we are expecting 6 inches),but that was not meant to be,its now official..So instead,I will pap some corn, pop a Dr.Pepper 10 ( even if they claim its not for women),turn my dvr on and watch the 1st.season of FRINGE....... Love the poster, you tellem Peter!!!!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy heart belongs to rugby....
ReplyDeleteLOL,actually I forgot to include rubgy,i only realized after i hit the enter button! :)
ReplyDeleteThat would be nice, and it would still be 9 p.m. for me since I live on the West Coast... But I know that'll never happen... *FOX that was the worst decision ever to air Game 7 on a Friday! Move it to Saturday! Oregon's getting rain today, I'll send some over East... Pray for rain everyone...
ReplyDeleteYAY! I love it when they preempt Fringe!
ReplyDeleteI'm not planning to massacre anyone at all! :D
Damn I am so pisssed right now, especially that I'll be away next week and wont get to see it for possibly another 2 weeks....... but that Peter picture "I'm Not Amused. HEHE Very good
ReplyDeleteUgh. This is rotten. On the one hand, I'm a baseball fan and this really has been one of the best World Series in recent memory. On the other, I've already waited two weeks for this episode.
ReplyDeleteUuuuugh.
Aargh! It's going to be a long week!
ReplyDeleteI saw CityTV didn't show it.
ReplyDeletebaseball is the greatest sport ever i love fringe but i would rather watch a game 7 which i got to tonight
ReplyDeleteYay for barely veiled death threats! I'm with you there Wilson!
ReplyDeleteIt's not FOX's decision. The schedule is determined by Major League Baseball.
ReplyDeleteI would expect extremely high DVR numbers for Supernatural to counter the lack of live viewing.
ReplyDeleteWhat time do the first ratings results come in today?
ReplyDeleteDo they arrive later on a Saturday?
