20 Oct 2011

It's that time again: TV on DVD releases are rolling out as we get into the new seasons. Click here for a rundown of some of the recent titles you can take home, including Blue Mountain State, William Shatner's The Captains, Showtime's Gigolos and The Real L Word, and the original UK version of Queer as Folk.

For you fellow TV on DVD/Blu-philes: what do you look for when deciding to purchase a new title? Is there a certain level of bonus features you expect? Sound off in the comments.

  1. I never care about commentaries (as the only opinion that matters is mine ;). Also, hold the posters and downloadable screen savers.

It's deleted scenes and behind the scene featurettes that count in my book. Something that lets me continue to enjoy the show beyond the season finale. The more there are, the more I'm willing to pay. If it's one 5 minute featurette, for example, and nothing else, I wont pay more than I would for a bonus-free dvd. Oh, and trailers are good to. So long as they are appropriate. No Disney trailers to lead into an action movie! I do tend to expect that there'll be extra material when I buy a dvd nowadays and get disappointed if there isn't or if it's poor quality. I suppose that we as consumers are a little spoiled that way. ;)

  2. Awesome! Once again, wish I had the money for most of what I want.
