  1. The trailer looks reminded me too much of the film.  How about actually focusing on the "Details how the luxury liner was built in Belfast by the White Star Lines over 15 years from 1897, and at a cost of 105 lives." part?

This could be interesting.  BBC series are usually great.

  2. Yeah, I realize that now.  I got my series mixed up b/c the title of the post is wrong.

  3. It looks like the film and the film sucked ^^

  4. I'm not sure we need another re-telling of the Titanic tragedy. Don't think there are a lot of original/new stories to be told :\

  6. more rubbish for our tv screens, why does the Uk make such crap, all these stupid annoying dramas. Why spend all that money making that when theres been loads already.
come up with something new for once.

  7. the UK TV audience has different tastes to that of American's, combine that with seasons only half as long as American TV and you end up with, as you call it, 'crap'.

  8. Guys, this comes from the creator of Downton Abbey and the scriptwriter of Gosford Park, so I have big hopes on it. We know for sure that he will portray a realistic view of the time and he won't make the mistake of focusing only in a love story as the movie.

I wonder if there would be the characters from Downton abbey of James and Patrick Crawley, who were passengers of the Titanic, that would be great XD.

  9. It looks interesting but it's been done. But if they have good stories then maybe it will work

  10. They continue making that "crap" because it is some of the best TV made in any country in the past decade. If you do not enjoy that's ok, but to say it is crap is just ridiculous and proves how little of a critical eye you have.

  11. That would be odd to see them in the series! Fun, but odd! XD

I'm looking forward to this with its exceptional creative team and what looks to be a great cast too.... it should be stellar.

I hated the Hollywood Cameron version with all it's overdone and forced drama. I know this will be nothing like that so I am going in with high hopes despite hating the movie that may be the most overrated movie of all time.

  16. The cameron film was bollocks but as this is by the downton people i may give this a chance and i noticed it will be shown in April around the 100th anniversary? Very clever, hopefully it will be respectful and not the farce that other film was?

  17. That's exactly what I though! Well, at least it seems to be Celine-Dion-less.

  18. I said that about Cameron's version, but loved it.  I think if you find the Titanic fascinating then you like most versions, lol.

  19. I love her too, found her turn in Dexter last year a bit disappointing thou.  I'm a fan of Toby Jones so I'll no doubt be giving this a go, even thou I'm not that drawn to ITV dramas much.

  20. I think UK shows (and US ones like Dexter, Breaking Bad) having shorter season is a good thing.  No boring filler episodes, and no ridiculous work schedule for cast and crew so they have all enthusiasm sucked out of them.  Plus it leaves time for them to work on other projects, esp theatre or small jobs that appeal to them ;)

  21. I'm not watching Dexter (someday i'll do xD) so I remember her from The Tudors! and I liked her! :D

  25. i cant stand these remakes, how many times can we repeat this story.  It looks exactly like the movie.  The movie took me 3years to watch b/c i didnt want to waste 3 hrs of my life watching a movie about a boat sinking ugh. Studios hear me bring some originality please stop remaking great works. ugh
