I came across this article and it pretty much sums up how I feel about Terra Nova and the missed opportunities (so far).
Many fans would say that while Terra Nova‘s pilot showed potential the show is crying out for overarching story to give it purpose and make it more than a sentimental set of closed-ended tales. With that in mind, here are four ongoing story threads that would make Terra Nova more engaging while setting up a potential second season.
-2149 - Experience the Future.
-The Sixers - Larger Mythology
-Taylor's Backstory - Character Development
-Taylor's Son - Control the Past, Control the Future

Hopefully more of these 4 stories come out tonight and in future episodes...
ReplyDeleteI'm losing interest, but want to keep watching.
I agree. I like the show, but it seems to suffer from the same issues that the other Spielberg show "Falling Skies" did: leaning to heavily on the family/teen dramatoo much to give the show depth as opposed to moving the mythology storylines along. A little is fine, but don't dwell on it too much to make it feel more family friendly... I'll still watch but hope that they start moving things along and I've read that most of the eps here on out do that.
ReplyDeleteGood ideas maybe they will incorporate some of it SOON before more people tune out and turn off.
ReplyDeleteI still really like this series but they have to move away from the family drama. I don't want a whole year of it. They have an entire unknown world to explore. Let's see it. I agree that we need more info about the Sixers and I would love to get some back story on Taylor. He is the most interesting character to date and that would allow us to see what happened with his son too. I don't need more of FutureWorld but I would love to know more about how the FutureWorld is trying to control Terra Nova. There are so many mysteries to explore. They are wasting time with the family drama and they need to step up the action.
ReplyDeleteAnother mystery...
ReplyDeleteWhy is Taylor's HQ made of giant bamboo beams when we haven't seen any bamboo anywhere else including outside of Terra Nova? XD
If someone can just explain to me how they bring people back and pick people in dino land when "this" timeline obviously is now an alter-timeline and going back to the same future is now impossible. I would love an answer to this. :)
ReplyDeletePicky, picky, picky! As my mother would say Do you want a story or don't you! lol "D
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched last night's episode yet but if it doesn't catch my interest any more than the previous episodes, I'm done.
ReplyDeleteI've already got so many shows queued up every week and more coming all the time. Just this week, Covert Affairs and Burn Notice are coming back and Hell on Wheels premieres. Something has got to give and, at this point, I don't have any qualms about dropping this show if it comes to that.
