Episode 7.12 will be called "Time After Time" and will feature the character of Eliot Ness, the G-Man and takes place in the past.

    There might be other angels who could do what Cas no longer can. I love the time-travel episodes, but Eliott Ness and that whole G-Man thing has always bored me. Hopefully the Winchesters can make it interesting.

    This is where the song The Chicago Died took place.  There was a major war in the city between Capone's gang and a combination of Feds and cops.

    Well, a while back Sera had this to say about this episode: 
    “We’re breaking an episode right now that’s pretty cool where there’s a whole new means [of time travel],” Gamble said, noting that angels would not be involved in “zapping” the boys back with this one.

    “One of the guys gets stuck in 1944, which is very different from being out west! It’s a much darker time period. It turns out the case they were trying to solve back then is the same type of case that Sam and Dean are trying to solve right now.”

    So if they didn't change their plans, it is supposed to be an angel-less time travel.

    I was going to ask the same question myself.

    I remember reading somewhere that the big bad of the season would reveal himslf around these mid-episodes and I wonder if this 1942 thing has anything to do with that because otherwise I'm hard put to understand why Elliot Ness would be involved with the Winchesters!

    Season 7 is going so well! There generally seems to be more positive comments than at the same point  in  S6, I think. 
    Eliot Ness huh? I always thought The Untouchables was just a tv show till I googled him. (Sorry, ignorant foreigner here) :P

    I wonder what Elliot Ness would have to do with anything in 1944? Capone was put on trial and convicted in the early 30's and Ness was no longer in Chicago or Cleveland by '44. Around that time, he was involved in a car accident that damaged his reputation and pretty much retired from his duties with the Justice Dept. He was working with the Dept. of Defense, but not in any law capacity. I don't see how that could have anything to do with the supernatural. Huh, looking forward to seeing how they twist this one together. :)

    They are going back in the past again?  How?  Please tell me it's not more angels.  I also don't want the Leviathans to have time travel powers.  In fact, I think it's time to retire time travel as a whole.

    Isn't there an episode where Dean goes back in time and not Sam? How come Sam never gets a chance to time travel?! He deserves it, too! I think the only episode where he did was in season 4 when Sam and Dean went to 1978 to see a young Mary and John. Am I right in that this is the only one where Sam time traveled and met his mother for the first real time?

    Yes, Dean goes back by himself in In the Beginning, and he goes forward in time in The End. And he travels to a kind of alt world by himself in What is and What Should Never Be.

    Both Sam and Dean time travelled in the ep you mentioned (can't remember the name right now) and in Fronteirland. And they both travelled to the alt dimension in French Mistake.

    But Sam has never travelled to an alt world or to a different time without Dean.

    Actually in 1944 he was the chairman of Diebold. If you work in banking you know who they are. Also, I'm guessing that they will address his apparent alcoholism (he was suspected of drinking when he was in that car accident) so it will probably be Dean that goes back. I can see the two of them at a bar feeling old and tired. Ness fought monsters all his life too (not supernatural ones of course) so I can definitely see a kinship forming.

    Thanks! That's great info! I have no idea what Diebold is, but hopefully it will make sense. I can see Ness and Dean commiserating over a few shots of whiskey. :) They seem like they could be kindred spirits -- hunting monsters and doing what nobody else can or wants to do.
