Here's my stance: I don't care how much Modern Family or Grey's Anatomy added to their already big ratings, these ratings matter more to shows that have higher increases in percentage. You're literally dismissing what was cited as the biggest reason that Fringe was renewed last year, so I'd say it means something, it not a lot.
Since this is live +7 Fringe was not a repeat for these ratings. It would be +7 for Subject 9. However this list is by number of viewers not percent increase. Fringe usually is at or near the top of percent of increase in viewers, but the numbers are already so low that it still can't match the really big shows. This is also true of Supernatural. Both of those shows also go up a great deal in the all important demos, making the final demo numbers competitive.
Ok but (and maybe I'm just not getting it) why does this matter when the demo numbers are used for ad rates, and if someone doesn't watch the show at it's original airdate/time (because they've DVR'd it) then aren't they skipping the ads when they eventually view it? So why do the +7 number matter then?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
You have the list of top % gainers?
ReplyDeleteI don't understand what that is/means...
ReplyDeleteBoo,no Fringe
ReplyDeleteWas this a repeat week for Fringe? If not, it will show up on the % gain list.
ReplyDeleteIt shows how many more viewers a show got within 7 days of the original episode airing.
ReplyDeleteI don't sorry. Those numbers don't really mean much anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe list is sorted by how many people watched the show via DVR after the first day.
ReplyDeletePerhaps, but that is where the CW shows are listed.
ReplyDeleteTrue :)

Fringe still gets up to a 2.1 after all is accounted for. That's nice.
ReplyDeleteGreys still holding strong at #2 im totally fine with that.
