I'm just hoping that not all demons are the same on this show. I mean... that was the most ineffective demon I've ever seen. lol it snarled a lot and jumped up and down and pushed people into stuff.
I thought this episode was better than all the other ones. It was creepy and suspenseful. Not sure about the demon caterpillar. Here's someone has the send to step on it. However, I am excited that they are giving Low Self-Esteem Witch a meaty part in the next episode. We still didn't get anything about the parents and I really thought we would. Disappointing because for me that is the most interesting story line.
I actually liked the weird little slithering thing. It looked better than the weird ear worms they had (doing exactly the same thing) last season on Supernatural. I think if they do demons on this show they should all be different and have different forms. That's something I've missed dearly since watching shows like Buffy and Charmed. Supernatural is my favorite but the meatsuits are getting old. (That's why I love the incredibly disturbing glimpses we get of the leviathans ripping through people's faces)
It is most likely going to be a 22-episode season, so if they throw out all the info at one time, I'd think we'd be in trouble for where the story would go next. Just remember, it took Sam and Dean 20 episodes to find their Dad, Olivia 20 episodes to cross over, and...you get the gist.
I thought we got plenty on the backstory if you'd asked me. Maybe it's because this show is extremely similar to SPN and Charmed and all the other shows in certain respects, but I think what happened (or part of what happened) was basically, a long time ago the circle accidentally opened something up and let something out. A horde of demons, possibly. There were so many that the circle couldn't stand their ground and several died that night. Amelia took her baby away as far as she good. I think it's possible that they opened it on purpose as well: part of the circle willed something to happen and the other part (Amelia, namely) didn't want it to happen, but it did anyway.
Last week's episode (according to the final ratings from tvbythenumbers) was a 1.0 18-49. That's the only show other than the Vampire Diaries to get something over a 0.9.
IT was better than the earlier episodes but the demon was lame.
Heater/demon can push big bro through walls (albeit a shoddily constructed wall) and toss Cassie like a rag doll 10 or 15 feet into the refrigerator, but a little yank on its hair incapacitates it? Guess they only want the super-strength and super-agility when it fit the moment and other wise they just chose to ignore it....
The girls running around trying to hide from a demon thought behind a wooden table was a good place to hide? As they peeked over the top of the table (their entire bodies visible UNDER the table) I could not help but laugh at how ridiculous it was.
I also wondered what the entire town will say when they see that Heather was run over by a car in the middle of the road. The same Heather who could not move because she was enspelled. The adult survivors of the circle surely know who Heather was and she couldn't move.... and I would wager most the long-timers in the town did too!
That said, it moved the backstory along some and showed there are more dangerous elements at play here than just witches.
I liked it too. And realistically it was not a demon anyway... it was just the vessel that carried the demon essence like Diana found in her family's book.
Secret Circle was pretty good. I honestly knew heather would get hit by the car the moment she stopped but they shot it so good that i actually jumped and threw my mouth up and covered my mouth like some people do. Also i thought the demon was gonna go into nick to me it made sense for some reason so i was surprised lol to see it go in jessica's character.
You've been brainwashed by Supernatural. Typically, demons are wild beasts or simply malevolent spirits but we've been watching a show for the better half of a decade that shows us demons who have jobs and families and ones who plot and scheme and have minions. You won't find demons like that anywhere else.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying the show, but it has me worried. It's just right on the line in the "In Danger" category for the cancellation table.

ReplyDeleteBwah! So true. Well, I guess they all can't be Crowley. The demon caterpillar was a disappointment after all the great demons on Supernatural.

Do you mean ratings-wise or quality-wise?
ReplyDeleteRatings. It's been stuck in the danger category since around episode 2.

Those are just my thoughts.

ReplyDeleteFor now, I'd say it is safe.
Ahhh, Crowley... Anyway, I'm with you on the demon caterpillar thing. I'm also with Wilson re: demons coming in various shapes and forms.

ReplyDeleteAhhh is that how it was explained? Maybe other vessels will be used then. :)

ReplyDeleteBuffy?
ReplyDeleteCharmed?
This goes WAY before Supernatural for me.
It's been minions and scheming for me since I was about 10 years old.
So, yeah. O_O
I get what you mean though.
Ah, Buffy. You got me there. I don't know why I didn't think of that. I could have at least thought of Halfrek. Shame on me.
