  1. OMG, who was in the background that made her change her mind?!? I'm freaking out here ):

  2. I believe it was Annie Hobbs cuz the mom yelled out to and said Annie... and she came out. But when Emma yelled Sutton she didn't come out. But when she was making her speech that figure was skinny wearing a towel so it could be Sutton. Its come down to Annie or Sutton... my bet its Annie Hobbs. Seeing that next episode in Jan will be called O Twin Where Art Thou? So that would imply Sutton must be missing...

  3. very true, the hair though didn't look very Annie like but it was a shadow...

  4. I had a few problems with this episode.  It wasn't one of my favorite 'summer' finales.  I think it's because the episode hit a point where it seemed padded.  We got, iirc, 3 scenes with Emma saying she was gonna run. Two where she started to confess.   It just felt like they were so busy holding off so certain story points didn't happen til the last few moments of the ep that the lack of stuff in the middle was obvious to me.

I loved the start contrast between Sutton and Emma personality wise.  The scene where Mom tries to adjust the dress Sutton was wearing was nicely done.I just hate it when people get yelled at by someone who is working off revisionist history and the person they're yelling at lets them get away with it.  :-)  I can't fuss too too bad because it was in character for Emma to let Sutton get away with that.  It was also in character for Sutton to loose it and lash out when Ethan said he loved Emma.  I wish the director had done a better job on the accident.  Cause honestly, Sutton had an hour to hit the breaks before going into the lake.I don't know if it's because if the number of 'life in the balance' cliff hangers this summer season, but I really hated car sinking cliff hanger.  Although, having read the first book....I'm not certain she'll be back next season so at least there's that.  ( A major plus for me.  :-D  )

  5. I think it was a hoodie.  But what had me confused....from the image it looked like it was Annie in the back seat of Sutton's car.  Did anyone else get that impression?  I was really confused because Sutton was still in the car and I couldn't imagine Annie leaving her there.

  6. I figured it was Annie too but seeing her at the party and Sutton still in the car made me wonder....

The only person I noticed that was absent from the party was Derek I think. Maybe he was on some chaos mission from Alec?

The other option is that Emma's evil step-brother was seeking revenge for the beat down and popped out on Sutton by mistake I guess....

Annie just does not work for me as the mystery figure in the car since the entire point of her going to PHX was to see her girls. If she was there she would have tried to rescue Sutton I think.

  7. I agree on some of the repetitive and unneeded scenes. I think one well done scene can express how difficult a decision is much better than 2 or 3 similar scenes saying the same things over and over.

I'm with you on hte car crash too. One it was awkward and two it's a lame plot device for a season finale. I guess that is lessened if you look at this episode as amid-season finale and not a true finale. If they ran the season at all at once we would be getting the pay off next week and it wouldn't be quite as lame to me at least....

  8. of course im reading that Alec was late to the party...hmmm and he had to talk to the cop brother about Annie so maybe Alec put him up to something or as you said Derek... hmmm so many suspects as who those two mystery people could be. And im confused because they sent out a casting call for Chars Aunt Annie.... I thought her Aunt was the same Annie that is the twins birth mom. Now im totally confused.

  9. I think Aunt Annie and Annie Hobbs are the same, but Sutton's mom has no idea the old school friend is the twins mother.

My first thought was Alec may be the twins father since he and  Ted seem to have a serious stake in covering up her parentage and institutionalization. He's connected somehow for sure....

The whole Justin plot is another mystery. He seems to have an ulterior motive connected to Annie too if Ted recognizing the bracelet is a clue. Half-brother to Sutton and Emma by Annie maybe?

And now we wait for months... sigh.

  10. Aunt Annie and Annie Hobbs are definitely the same person.

Dereck!  Yes!  Thank you DarqueMode...I had completely forgotten about him.

Another question.  Were they pretty clear (or did I just take it that way) that Alec knows about the twins and Sutton's father (who I think is Sutton and Emma's father) does NOT know?

  11. It seems to me that Alec knows yes.... I'm not sure about Ted though. My guess is he knows that one Sutton is Annie's but may not know that a twin exists.

Yeah I go back and forth between thinking Alec is their dad or Ted is their dad...

The only reason I lean against Ted being the twins' dad is that I think Justin is somehow connected to Annie, if not related to her and if Ted is the twins' dad and Annie their mom then he and Laurel could be half-brother and half-sister dating one another....

If this was HBO I'd guess that was in fact the plot, but seeing as it's ABC Family I am thinking not. Unless they really are trying to be "a new kind of family"! XD

  12. Decent, but not great finale.  Mostly, it was frustrating.

     - How many damn times is Emma going to "almost" tell someone who she is!?  Enough already.
     - Ethan, you love Emma.  We get it.
     - Char needs to get over that lunkhead boyfriend.  That won't end well.
     - I'm starting to get a creepy serial killer vibe from Justin.
     - I'm thinking Alec sent Derek to kill Sutton or Travis returned to Phoenix for payback and mistook Sutton for Emma.
     - I want to know why Dan the cop is in the DA's back pocket.  Whatever the situation is, he's obviously not happy about it.
     - There had better be some significant progress in this story when the show comes back.

  13. I'm thinking that Alec's "present" may have been him getting rid of Emma's competition, a.k.a. her sister.  He's a twisted dude.

  14. I think the car crash was lame because this show doesn't have the budget to do it right and make it look good.  It looked like a friggin' student film.

  15. Yeah he is!

I half expected him to call her Emma in the party scene..... He just had that "I know a secret" look on his face. XD

  16. I had not really thought about it, but while it was moving along fairly well in the first half of this season.... the last handful of episodes really have not advanced the twins plots very much.

We found out a bit more about Annie and with her escape it could certainly shake things up, but after I thought about it it, it does feel a little stagnant.

A lot fo time spent on secondary characters boyfriends and the teen drama stuff gets old fast. I'm not there yet, but if they keep the twins plot moving slowly and advance more about the romances of the high school kids it goes from mystery to teen soap opera and that's not my thing.

That was my biggest fear going into this show.  Thankfully, as a small consolation, this show has had the good sense to make sure these boyfriends all have ties to the main plot so it's not just teen relationship crap.  I hope it stays that way because, like you said, that's not my thing.
