A bit slow sometimes, but enough proof that most probably this will be the best new drama os the season (unless Hell on Wheels lives up to my expectations/hopes or something else completely surprises).
Lewis' performance already looks Emmy-nomination worthy to me. I'm also quite surprised by Baccarin's performance as his wife. She never impressed as an actress so far, but she's doing a good job as Brody's wife so far.
The ending of the episode looked promising. While this episode was more about the repercussions those 8 years had on Brody and how his family is dealing with him returning, it looks like the next episodes could be a bit faster paced now that Brody seems to be setting some plans in motion.
This show's just keep's on getting better and beter. Althog my dislike for the female anget is growing by the week. And i dont see her informant survivning the next ep.
Agreed on Baccarin. I always looked at her as more eye candy than actress (shame on me), but she is holding her own with some top quality actors in this series! Impressive stuff.
I suspected it would be good, but I was not betting on brilliant.
It's become not only a show I look forward to each week, but a series I would bet garners a number of Emmy Award nominations as well as other critic's awards....
Easily the best new series of the Fall TV season.... While I look forward to a number of the mid-season premieres, I seriously doubt any of them will come close to this level of excellence!
Loving the Saul character. I could sing praise for Danes & Lewis, but everyone's already doing that (deservedly so). Saul's the other character who oozes awesomeness and acting brilliance.
Can't wait to see where it goes. The thing I'm most curious about is where would it go if it goes for S2...
It feels like it should be a mini-series and end at the end of its 13 episode run. They can only do the "is he or isn't he" for so long until it would grow stale and repetitive.
I guess if they finally conclude that Brody is NOT a spy, then Season 2 could concentrate on who actually is the spy. More of a true spy hunter espionage plotline than this year.
Not as riveting as the pilot but a good episode nonetheless.
- Claire Danes is really nailing her role so far. It's a fantastic part and she's doing a fantastic job. - This is the first part where Baccarin has really had to act and she's handling it very well. - Lewis is doing and amazing job as Brody. He's compelling and creepy and heartbreaking all at the same time.
That's the only problem I'm having with this show. Right now I don't really see how you can do more than one season of this show without stretching it out too long.
Excellent show! The best new show this season. But I can´t help thinking if they can keep it up. it jst doesn´t seem like one of those shows that goes on for 4 - 6 seasons. But then again - all the characters have a lot of potential, so maybe there is just a lot to the story we don´t know about yet.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteCompletely in love with this show, definitely the best new drama of the fall.
ReplyDeleteIt's now easily my favourite new show of all this season. Great stuff!
ReplyDeleteSame here :)
ReplyDeleteAgreed on Baccarin.

Acting wise, it's brilliant, storyline wise, it's brilliant.

I've been wondering about that too.

Maybe S2 could focus on bringing down the terrorist, say if S1 focuses more on stopping Brody from destroying something with the States...
ReplyDeleteGuess he could be re-turned or something. Maybe there's a secondary plot... or something... :P
