The Mike Chang storyline was the best part of the ep for me, and really liked that they FINALLY are giving some meatier storylines to the others, and nice to see that MC can do more than dance. I'm glad that Mercedes got some time, but was disappointed as it felt that the reversed course on hers and Rachel's characters back into the S1 versions of themselves: overdriven/selfish Rachel who is willing to backstab friends because of her insecurites and jealous Mercedes , who doesn't want to be in Rachel's shadow anymore, even though they supposedly resolved that conflict before.... I'm still annoyed that they've completely written off the close friendship that Quinn and Mercedes developed in S1 as well... a little continuity would be nice. THe performances were great tonight, however.
I.FUCKING.LOVE.IT! I dont care what people think. I cried three times. twice for a character I didnt even give a damn (now i do, aussello was right) and wow Emma! OMG!!!
Like 3sec of klaine and I DIDnt care which means it was freaken epic. SEASON THREE RULES! MY! WORLD!
First of all, Mercedes DID NOT do better than Rachel at the audition. I think it's a matter of taste, as they have totally different voices and styles, but I thought they were equally great. Second, Rachel has stepped down a couple of times already to make Mercedes feel better and yet she still acts like a hurt little victim of injustice. She's such an annoying diva. Rachel needs this role for her future, to get into school she dreams about. Mercedes just needs it to gratify her desire to be in the spotlights.
And I love Mike Chang, but I actually loved him more when he couldn't sing. That made him special ;)
That was a great episode. Was it the best that others had predicted before it was aired? Not 100%. Don't get me wrong, was nice to see some back story to Mike and Emma, and Fix You was a nice song to end on but, perhaps not great the whole way through. The scenes with Coach Beiste were entertaining though.
The musical variety was back this week so that's a point in this episode's favor. However, I really don't get all the hype for this episode. It was good but it wasn't anything special. I can say it was better than your typical season two episode.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
great one!!! loved all the performances! will was awesome, mike too! wow!! not voting awesome because I needed more Santana!! :P
ReplyDeleteI can't stand Mercedes! She has an amazing voice but her characters is really annoying... However, the episode was awesome!!
ReplyDeleteFinally, an episode not centred around Klaine. And FINALLY, Mike Chang sang properly!!! And Jayma May's acting was ridiculously flawless.
ReplyDeleteAmber Riley confirmed she is not pregnant.
ReplyDeleteis it just me, or does anybody else hope Mercedes isn't pregnant...? The whole nausea/Effie White thing? One New Directions pregnancy was enough!

ReplyDeleteIMO Mercedes is such a spoiled brat.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't "the best episode of Glee ever", but it was good.
