  1. It was extraordinary. Ryan is one hell of a cop!

  3. Amazing. Seamus Dever delivered in a big way. Can't wait until 3XK shows up again. That episode is going to be a real kick in the gut.

yea great episode, great storyline, and great job to seamus on ryan. U really outdid yourself for this and i liked your performance even better then Nathan's surprisngly! I hope you get more centric episodes in the future at least 1 or 2 per season. They should do the same for esposito.

  5. For  me  this  was the  worst episode of Castle .I  usually  love  serious episodes  but  this  one  was terrible. The case was boring ,no  caskett  and a lot  of  cheesy  lines. Fortunately  next  week  looks  amazing  and a  lot  of fun.

  6. I frickin LOVED IT! Ryan is not only soooooo cute but he can really be like a bad ass cop when he needs to be. It just showed that he has a strength to *be* a cop. I fell in love with him all over again. :) <3

  8. I thought this was classic Castle genius, one of the best episodes in a long time.  It helps that the secondary characters are by far my favorite though.  I liked getting to see more of Ryan's personality and it was done really well.  I loved the twist of the 2 characters being in love and although it was not a real shock, I like that Ben went into Witness Protection.  About the only thing I didn't like was the hideous music playing during the brother confrontation and the weird direction in that scene.  The whole thing felt cheesy and way over-the-top.

  9. Awesome as usual. Seamus Dever was amazing and a nice character development for "Kevin Ryan" too. :)

  10. Awesome ep. Liked that Ryan got a chance to take center stage, and that the mythology storyline of the 3XK takes a step forward.... Looking forward to see how Marlowe drops the pieces and then ties them together....

  11. The more they shove the relationship in the audience's face the more impatient the audience gets. You really can't please everyone and I'm saying this as a huge Caskett shipper.

  12. It's BEYOND Awesome! Outstanding performance by Seamus Dever. Also love the changed dynamic with Castle/Esposito, Beckett/Ryan!

  14. I always love new twists on old tales, and Castle has hit this R&J variant out of the park. Absolutely enthralled, could not take my eyes off the screen. The characters needed this sidestep away from the main development, and yet it built in beautifully. It feels like a stand-alone episode, but it will stand strongly, and brightly in my mind for a long time to come - not only was it an incredible insight into Kevin Ryan, but also the writers' perspective on what it means to be a cop. To be a Police Officer.

  15. I loved this new format of Rick staying in the background! I think what we all saw was the first episode of the upcoming spin off. Ryan kicked good! I think this spin off will have lots of potential!

  16. It was a stand alone episode. ABC was in negotiations with a Canadian broadcaster for the Ryan and Esposito spin off. I think we just saw what that series will look like. I definitely would watch this spin off!

  17. I loved it, Seamus Dever did a hell of a job =)

Besides of all the obviously amazing stuff you guys already pointed out, there was another small thing I totally loved: The way Beckett slammed the door shut after the four of them were given their telling-off by Gates. There was a bit of the old Beckett back from season 1 shining through =)

  18. For this episode, I really wish there was a rating higher than "Awesome"

I loved seeing Ryan like this. He gets pinned with the comic relief role too often, and I love him for it, but MAN can he pull badass off, brilliantly!

  19. I loved it! It was really nice to see some character development other than Castle and Beckett.
Seamus did one hell of a job in this episode! I was also glad to see Beckett being the "care taker / cheer up" person for once... usually it is she who needs the cheer up :S

  21. Really fantastic episode. It was great to see Ryan be able to shine and Seamus Dever really stepped up to the mark. Hope we see a few more episodes focusing on the supporting characters.

  22. Not bad.

     - I was surprised to the extent that the lead character, Castle, took a back seat in this episode.
     - Seamus Dever did a good job with the heavier material.
     - The show really overdid it with the dramatic music this week.
     - The mystery was too predictable.
     - I'd like to start seeing more to Gates' personality.  Her relentless hardass routine is already wearing a bit thin.
     - I'm a bit disappointed that Castle's family is still mainly separated from the rest of the characters.  I'd like more interaction.
