I was more excited until I realised it was only a few days away but it's still cool I'll probably wait too, won't have much time to watch it until then anyway.
Well, it doesn't work for me in France, I can watch it with the links published in the comments but is it possible to see it somewhere else ? If someone can help me it could be cool. Thanks :)
I agree with you and I loved it. When I first heard the plot I thought this will never work but after watching the pilot I am really looking forward to more. I thought it was very well done and the actors (that were in the pilot anyway) were perfect for there character's. I think fairytales are something most of us grew up with but seeing them done in this way has made me want to go back and read them again. I think you are right as well that this if done correctly could be a breakout hit and I hope it is. The only bad thing is now I have to wait a week plus 3 days to see the next episode XD
I was one of those who heard the title and the premise (fairytales) and thought that they had lost their minds. I'm really glad to say that I have changed my mind.
You're right. It was very well done and the actors were perfectly matched. I just hope that they are able to keep up the great writing/acting in the next episodes...
I know XD me too but it should be worth the wait! I might even rewatch it and try and guess which fairytale characters they use in the episode other than those they name.
I found a group cast shot I don;t think has been posted on here. http://spoilertv.co.uk/images/albums/pilot-shows/once-upon-a-time/season-1/cast-promotional-photos/054.jpg
MY first thoughts were the same as yours... and my second thoughts too after I saw the cheesey kid-like fairytale costumes in the first set of promo photos.
I always thought if they can keep it grounded and real in the alternate world it could be good, but the cheesy costumes scared me! The later sets all had more adult and realistic costumes so I have higher hopes!
Good to hear someone that felt the same as me thinks it has potential.... now when I tune in I can have real interest and not just skepticism.
Well I was a huge skeptic before I watched the pilot and now I'm on board. Having said that-- yes, in the pilot some of the costumes especially in the fairytale world ARE cheesy but I looked past that and when I got used to it--I thought that it was done quite nicely kitchy as it seemed at first.
It took the full pilot to convince me because the first 9 minutes were a bit out there though...
If they can keep a fair blend between the fantasy-esque scenes and the real world in future episodes then it does have potential I think.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Not watching since I can wait until Sunday, but awesome!
ReplyDeletewell, I'm certainly not in the USA and i can watch that. :)
ReplyDeleteWorks for me in Austria too. But not in the mood to watch it right now...

Thanks. Boy does it look kitchy but I suppose that it has to at some extent
ReplyDeleteThe kiddy costumes were from the pilot promo shoot... so it makes sense some made their way into the pilot I guess....
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that the more recent more adult (less felt looking and more leather) costumes make it into the future episodes...
I'm willing to look past them for an episode or two... I've liked other episodes or movies with a similar premise so.... wait and see I guess.
I hope so too :)
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on storyline as well. They need real world believable plots that balance out some of the weirdness of the fairytale storylines.
I've read that they're also creating their own fairytale storylines (not just following the actual stories word for word) so it should be interesting
Going to wait to watch this in glorious HD.
ReplyDeleteFrom Slovenia and i can see it too. watched the first fev min in look's interesting.
ReplyDeleteI can watch it & I'm not in US.. I guess I'll have to check it out later today..
