Grey's Anatomy's Alex is about to have some competition.

True Blood's Vedette Lim has signed on as Dr. Polly Preston, who arrives at Seattle Grace with a pediatric fellowship, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) will take a liking to Polly, so much so that she'll boot Alex (Justin Chambers) from her cases.

Lim, who portrayed Tara's lesbian lover on the fourth season of the HBO series, will first appear in Episode 8.

    Glad Alex (Justin) is being utilized so much. (At least I hope this is a fairly big storyline). I've always enjoyed the straightforward and very honest aspect he adds to GA

    Alex is officially the whipping boy of Grey's Anatomy.  It's much worse since O'Malley died.  This show seems to make a point of making sure each character has a prolonged time of normalcy or happiness, but not Alex.  Somehow, his life is always a giant flaming ball of garbage.  Enough already.
